She has a 17% lead on TMO. Did not think it would be that huge.

#2 on the Hot 100
Looking like this could overtake "Set Fire to the Rain" next week. This definitely should've been the lead single.

I think she'll be #1 next week. This seriously just came out of nowhere and exploded.

Entertainment Weekly has been hyping this song like it was the second coming.

I still don't see its appeal but good for her I was totally on the same page as you until the video. It just made the song click for me.

The pre-chorus of this song sounds just like "St Elmo's Fire."

The pre-chorus of this song sounds just like "St Elmo's Fire." LOL, a little bit. The video was smart in embracing the cheese-factor of this song. But one of her guitar players is a dead ringer for the singer from Midnight Oil.

People must really love this song. I don't hear why it's so different from everything else she's ever done. To each his own.

I don't think it's different at all, and that's almost the point. People were waiting to hear this sound from her, and jumped on it the second they got it. It's not terribly inventive or different from SUBG or MLWSWY, but that doesn't mean it's not a good song. The moment I heard it, my immediate thought was, "Well, here's her smash." Granted, I wasn't expecting a Hot 100 #1...glad for her.

Second week at #1.
I like this song, but I can't believe it has a higher peak than any of the singles from the Breakaway era.
