mms://66.186.0.101/allaccess/dixinotr.wmaThere might as well be a thread for this song here too. It looks like not all of Country radio has turned it's back on the Dixie Chicks. The song is an instant impact at #40. I doubt every station will play them, but it's doing amazing so far.

I'm really happy to see them taking off this well at Country radio. The whole thing was stupid and out of proportion in the first place.

Well yeah, when I think of the Dixie Chicks. Country is the first thing that comes to my mind.

Well yeah, when I think of the Dixie Chicks. Country is the first thing that comes to my mind. I can't tell if that was supposed to be a smartass comment or not. A few years ago, every Dixie Chicks song was reduced to 0 spins at Country radio after Natalie made anti-Bush comments. It was very uncertain if they'd ever find support at the format again, especially with a song like this that's basically a big f**k you to everyone who wants Natalie to shut her mouth. This song wasn't even going to be marketed to country. It's very impressive that it's exploding because it certainly wasn't a given that this song would even make the chart.

Now that I've heard this I'm extra shocked that it's doing something at Country. It sounds like a Wilson Phillips song but with more depth. If THIS is exploding at Country, I guess an actual Country song could have blown up huge just like old times.

The bullet has collapsed. I guess programmers were a little more open to it than their listeners.

The bullet has collapsed. I guess programmers were a little more open to it than their listeners. I guess now we know for sure who the 26% of the American population who still approve of Bush are. lol

Oh... I forgot to post this. There was an article in EW about 2 or 3 weeks ago about Country radio's reaction to this. Some Country stations are saying people told them they'd stop listening if they played this Others are "waiting" to play the second single as the "first" single because they don't want to remind listeners of the 2003 ordeal.
