I guess there should be a thread for this here since it's Top 5 on iTunes. This is a cover of the Tom Cochrane hit from 1992. It's really similar to the original. It's kind of a blah cover. It's so similar, just lacking the punch in the chorus which is really the highlight of the original for me.

I can't imagine a Country version of that song. Nor can I imagine an album track being Top 20 onthe Hot 100.

Why is this exploding all of a sudden? Was it featured on a popular T.V show or something?

I think they have the best selling album of 2006 so far. Wow. I seriously feel like New Jersey is its own country sometimes.

Well...Rascal Flatts are more or less a country group. I wouldn't really expect them to be all that well-known in certain parts, especially the North and Northeast.

Jumps 25-7 on the Hot 100 giving them their second Top 10 hit this year, and putting it only one position behind the peak of Tom Cochrane's original.

They really are this big? In a word... yes. ;D Great cover guys! I've had people come up to me and say they never liked "Life Is A Highway" until they heard Rascal Flatts sing it. That's about the biggest praise an artist can get.

Top 40 with a +216 bullet. It never went for adds. The second single from their album, "Me And My Gang," is #6 with a +115 bullet. This song is probably taking away from that one. I like this better though.

I like this better though. Me too. I never got into MAMG. LIAH has been on repeat on my sister's iTunes forever now (her room is right next to mine), so at least for the duration of the summer, it'll remain in my head.
