Yeah, the entire CD was produced by Rob Cavallo.

I like the review and I think it's pretty accurate. It hits the nail on the head about her problem not being the music, but being the promotion at Atlantic. They know there's no way she'll be "the big thing" again, so unfortunately they won't spend much time promoting her.

Rob Cavallo is most known for his work with Green Day and producing Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited". Thanks for that. I can distinguish a HAC producer's songs in the way I can for Urban producers. I basically never know who produces what when it comes to this kind of music. I loved "Uninvited" and I'm a fan of Green Day, so now it makes perfect sense as to why this song is so good.

I have to insert that I love this song! It's soothing yet still mantains a great hook.

This is flopping. It's only +147 and I've never even seen it much higher. It's only on 50 stations which is pretty bad considering this is a lead single that already went for adds. Jewel has had at least one Top 10 HAC hit per album. It'd be a shame if this is where the streak ends, because this is a pretty good song from her.

This is really not doing well at all. Not only is the bullet small, but it's not pulling in any new adds. "Intuition" was a mixed blessing for her and now she has to deal with the after effects.

Seeing how HAC has treated Alanis ("Crazy") and now Jewel, suddenly the #5 peak of Sheryl's "Good Is Good" doesn't seem so bad. I guess HAC is moving on from their core females as well. That would explain the struggle this and "Crazy" had, because in terms of quality alone both songs are Alanis' and Jewel's strongest showings in years.

I like the video. It's really simple though. She looks good and the lighting is really cool. But it's repetitive and I felt like I was watching a commercial for laundry detergent to get out grass stains or something.

Right when I woke up this video was on.
I didn't really pay attention but I could hear her singing "again and again..."

I really like this song. I saw the video on VH1 this morning for the first time... and yeah, the similarities to Mariah-styles is uncanny... nice video though.
Matthew Rolston is a great music video director!

I don't like how her voice sounds in this song.

How different does her voice sound from her older songs? I don't think that much...
I would actually say this song fits well into the "This Way" era, not the "0304" era.

Her voice sounds very different to me. Her voice hasn't been the same since "Intuition".

I was comparing this song with "This Way" (one of my all-time fave Jewel songs) and her voice sounds very familiar. I can't wait for this to come to iTunes.

This song is nice, but it's way too low-key for a first single.

Finally enters the Top 20 with a measly +78 bullet. That actually is good enough to be in the Top 10 greatest gainers though.
Her problem is there are three (poppy) female songs already above her with +200 or higher bullets: Natasha, Kelly, and KT.

At #20, this is about to lose its bullet at HAC. I'm lost for any additional words.

This song is like a wolf in sheep's clothing.. or kind of like a sheep in wolf's clothing. lol
Everything about this song is completely 0304 from the simple production to the poppy hook to the sexy video. She just decided to nix the wet t-shirts and Shakira beats.
I'm not really all that surprised that Hot AC ignored it for this reason. They started ignoring her right after "Intuition" was a hit. I did expect this to atleast make #15 though.

This does sound a lot more Poppy than her pre-0304 material. But, look what female songs HAC is playing right now- Natasha Bedingfield & Kelly. Both of those are poppier than this Jewel song imo. I think their problem is more with Jewel at this point than with her current style. Having said that, as a lead single, I would have still predicted a peak of #8.

I mean that Hot AC might not want to play Jewel if she's going to put out pop songs with teen lyrics because they do have younger people like Kelly and Natasha to replace her who have songs that have already proven to be loved by a lot of people. Jewel could fill a void but she's trying too hard to fit into another grouping where she can easily be replaced. It's kind of like how Liz Phair lost basically every last fan she had when she tried to put out a second "sell out" album.

That makes sense. She must be scared of backlash too because that would explain the "video only" release on her webpage that predated the single.
I think "Again and Again" does fill a void to an extent though. It's more adult sounding pop and it has a nostalgic feel to it. It's just that the void isn't big enough.
