There's like one rap song in the entire Top 20 at pop radio right now so saying you need to be a rapper to get a hit these days is just dating yourself. Secondly, using the Goo Goo Dolls as an example of what pop is missing thematically is ridiculous. The Goo Goo Dolls have made a career out of light rock ballads about love... and that's so far ahead of what's on pop radio? To my knowledge, that happens to be a great deal of what pop radio still is. Almost every song in the current Top 10 is similar lyrically to what the Goo Goo Dolls sing about.. love. So it's just the fact that you like light rock that could have been a hit in the 80's or 90's. I have a fondness for the 70's and 80's, but I don't say that music should still sound like that in every single little detail.

Even aside from the charts, another BIG reason why HAC now isn't like the CHR/Pop of the 90's is because HAC is like 50% (or more) based on recurrents and really old songs.

I love that review.
This song has been stuck in my head non-stop all day (and I haven't even heard it yet today).

I'm saying HOT AC is more like what POP has always been, and hot ac is new music. The Goo Goo Dolls are just as good as Daniel Powter and probably same age,LOL. ILike I said I like alot of artists on CHR POP, but they are on HOT AC. Even that new SOS song by Rhianna. but its on HOT AC< i love MARY J>, Hot AC, If i like it whether its R&B,pop, rock, its on HOT AC. I hate CHR not for any POP or ROCK or R&B, but RAP (GANGSTA especially) has about as much POP appeal as a Slayer song to me. I have been programming hit radio for 5 years now and grew up in 90s, so i'm not too old to know whats hip, but old enough to know whats good. I picked Matchbox 20 to be legends, the first time I heard "Push" and I'd say there on theyre way as are the Goo's. I hated the 90s as a whole. the 80s and 00's are better. but the cream of every decade rises and goes on like Goos,Rob Thomas, & Sheryl Crow!!!! That's all I was saying.

I do not like the Goo Goo Dolls at all, but this is probably one of the best songs they've ever released.

I love this! This will probably be my #1 song of 2006. Can't wait until April 25th, I am getting this CD.
This will definitely be a top 10 hit at Hot AC and I hope it goes #1! I think it also could finally get them back to the top 40 at Pop.

This is about to lose its HAC bullet at #9. Even still, it's not like there's songs about to jump over this. The whole format is dead. I just though this song would rush to the Top 5 for them easily.

The reason why bullets are down is because of Memorial Day weekend. Bulets should start increasing in less than one week.
