First single from her upcoming album. Goes for adds at Triple A Oct 22nd. It's already gotten a few spins, will probably hit the net soon.

I'll always be interested enough to check out new Sheryl, but I've made my peace with the fact that the 90's are in the past now and since then, her kind of music sort of bores me. I wish her luck though! If it's good, I'll make myself a fan again but I'm expecting something boring.

I kind of like it! It reminds me of David Gray.

LMAO @ me saying this has gotten a few spins. I forgot, at Triple A, that's like a million, I didn't realize it was second greatest gainer. SMASH!

LMAO @ me saying this has gotten a few spins. I forgot, at Triple A, that's like a million, I didn't realize it was second greatest gainer. SMASH! sh*t- that's no joke. This really is Taking Off at AAA already. Talk about a low key lead single debut. There was no word of this and it's not even at the bottom of the HAC taking off. Even her official webpage is still decked out in Wildflower crap and she only has 4 friends on MySpace... so how can we hear this?

This made it's radio debut a week ago, and it still hasn't leaked online.

This is great! I heard it on my AAA station this morning. It's easily her best single since 'Soak Up the Sun'. The chorus is SOARING. It's a message song and it's kind of pretentious... but I LOVE it.

Is it radio-friendly or it's just a good song?

That's tricky to answer... It's certainly catchy as hell and hasn't left my head since I heard it this morning. The subject matter is certainly political but I wouldn't say it's obnoxious... I'm going to go ahead and say yes.. It's radio friendly.

Is it political as in John Mayer's "Waiting On The World To Change"? I remember the first I heard that I thought "wow, he's alienating himself from radio" but it went on to become his second biggest Hot 100 hit.
That song was taking off at HAC immediately and was all over the internet as soon as one radio station gave it one spin. Just like Sheryl's situation!

Listen to a 30 second clipThis is catchy but not in a radio way. It's solid though. It's actually not in the boring piano direction that I was expecting.

Wow. This is like right back to "Leaving Las Vegas" Sheryl. I like it, but it's the least radio friendly debut single she's ever put out. I can't see this being much of a hit.

This seriously sounds like it could have been on her debut album. Sounds really good so far. Its not a hit though.

I kind of think the "you make me wanna..." part is there to be a radio catch phrase. I don't think it necessarily works as one though.

I love that clip. And her vocals sound really strong too.

Yeah. Her vocals really impressed me. She sounds like she did at the beginning of her career again. I was wondering if the breathy, higher pitched singing was just the natural progression of her voice. Good to know she still has that rough, low voice.
