Confirmed on an online radio show, Elliott Yamin, the second runner-up for American Idol Season 5, will debut on radio with his first single entitled "The Storm". It will be "unlike anything Elliot has ever done before". The song will be available on iTunes and Amazon, and its proceeds will go to The Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund and the American Association of Diabetes.

This is sure to be corny as hell. I hate that he's starting his career out this way. His voice is killer. James Morrison's voice sounds similar. They both have heavy Donny Hathaway influences.

Charity singles are usually horrific. I bet it stinks.

Yay for Nu Elliott! I heard that he worked with that gospel/rap producer, Big Planz, on this song. We've heard a few clips from their collaborations before, and Elliott sounded great in those songs. I hope this single is along the same line as those songs, and not the typical sappy/schmaltzy ballads most people tend to do.

Elliott's management apparently agrees with me because they had him cancel the release.
