Flop. They're going to basically be one hit-wonders unless the lead single from their sophomore album is amazing.

This will doing nothing at radio. I wouldn't call them a "flop" or a one-hit wonder though becuase they're basically a cult band in the first place with numerous cult hits.

"Crooked Teeth" wasn't exactly a flop, now was it?
And yeah, I'd agree that they're more of a "cult" band - and "The Sound of Settling" could be considered a sleeper hit.

Crooked Teeth was a moderate hit! It went top 20...and I heard it all the time in KC on the alt station when I went back. This news is AMAZING...It may only go top 20 alternative, but it's going to blow up on Hot AC and crossover to pop like Daughters did for John Mayer. This is easily the best track on the album. They can follow it up with Marching Bands of Manhattan and it will be their first album with four real singles.
I've included this song on lots of mixes that I've made for girls since the album came out, and they always ask who it is because they love it so much. It may be really stripped down, but it's really beautiful and has a very strong hook. Pitchfork and All Music both thought this was the standout on the record.

There are plenty of "cult" artists who had a bunch of albums and then scored one big crossover hit and are still considered one hit wonders. I mean one hit is one hit.

I saw them live at Bonaroo and they were INCREDIBLE. I thought it'd be so hard to perform the songs from Plans live with all the production, but they sound even better. This one was a huge sing along...

This has to be one of the most boring songs i've ever heard. I couldn't even get through it.
