Thank God, finally a name! Based on the title, I can't tell what the lyrics are about. "for the record, I truly loved you"? "for the record, I am not a dumb diva"? My guess is that it's not a ballad

Bryan-Michael and Adonis are on the Glamour video, in the video Mariah said they were going to finish a song on that day, maybe it's this one

I have a strong feeling this will be the first single. Any song written by Cox and Mariah is destined to be a hit, and it's the only song that has been officially registered.

I hope it's not the first single. I mean, all of his ballads sounds the same now and his uptempos are kind of weak. I hope he changed his sound.

"For The Record" doesn't sound like a ballad, but who knows. Knowing Mariah, it's a midtempo. Of course I want something different from her, but if the song is coming out a month before the album, it should be at least somewhat familiar.
Edit: I just realized something...I know that the perfume song was said to be written for the commercial, but was that ever comfirmed? I just re-read the Mariah Daily article and the Shropshire bit really caught my eye. He's the same guy that prodcued So Lonely, and the song in the "M" commercial sounds EXACTLY like a Bryan Cox melody meets So Lonely.

If this is a B.Cox ballad and is the lead single, she deserves to flop for being an uninventive moron.

B.Cox's ballad style is DEAD.

So, this is for the hardcore lambs... but, would her next single be in a position to break any other big record??... Like, is this the one where she can surpass Elvis or the Beatles for number of weeks at #1 or something?..
Cause, I'm thinking the song title is a statement to that effect...

She already tied Elvis, and she needs four more #1's to pass the Beatles' record.

Im not too sure if shes goin to get four more number 1s.. but damn would i be soooo excited.... if she had the most number 1s than any other artist! that would be insane!

The Beatles scored all 20 #1's in 6 years, so Mariah's record wouldn't be NEARLY as impressive anyway!

Well she would be the artist with the most number 1s and a female at that as the artist with the most.

I really hope she never has a #1 again. I think the Beatles are slightly overrated (still love them), but Mariah Carey cannot have the most #1 singles of all time.

I'm pretty sure breaking that beatles record is in mariah's (and the record company's) "to do" list. she's done it before and she will do it again

It's like one artist against a group..... that would be fun!

It's not like Mariah's quantity of #1 hits lessens The Beatles' greatness.

It's a really slippery slope when you use chart statistics to judge who the greatest artists of all time are. First it's Mariah, but eventually you end up hailing Soulja Boy as a legend.
