wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/pinkdear.wmaU+Ur Hand will not be a single in the US, but only an international single. The US single, instead, will be this I just don't understand why those morons think this would do better than U+Ur Hand in the US. Consider Pink's career officially DEAD in the US.

Maybe they want some controversy to get that download smash!

I guess they saw Bush's approval rate and realized it was worth a shot.

haha i wonder what fueled this. they must have let her release it because nothing would help the album anyways.

They know radio won't play anything, so they purposely release the one thing they know radio really would NOT play even if it were from some huge megasmash artist. It's Pink's way of saying "joke's on you because I don't give a f**k."

I'm happy she's over and done with. She's shot herself in the foot so many times that she doesn't deserve anymore success. It's sad because this was a pretty good album and I really used to like her.

I think Pink wants to be more than a POP star and her record company wants something different. I think had "Who Knew" been promoted correctly it would have atleast been a Top 20 Hot AC hit!! I love Nelly Furtado new cd and it works for her, but I don't believe every artist has to go that route to have huge sales. I believe there is room for TRUE POP ROCK music as Kelly Clarkson proves. All we have here is the record company letting Pink fail to teach her a lesson to listen to them cuz they make and break careers. I'm in the radio biz, trust me the lable promoted this cd horrible!! I've always said good songs will find a way but the record company has to want it too!!

Frankly, any spins with a song like this would be something of a success. I say good on her for having the balls to release the song, even if it's for all the wrong reasons.

I guess they're figuring that the song will create controversy and get her some attention. This could be a huge downloads hit with a strong video that supports the lyrics of the song.
There is a very slight chance this could work, but it will probably backfire bigtime.

What else can get her a hit now? Might as well go with something controversial.
She deserves something.

I say "Dear Mr. President", she can conect with more people. "Cuz I Can" is just a boring pop song. I can't believe she's still fighting for "Cuz I Can". Both songs will flop though.

But if she's going to have a flop, she might as well go for the one that will get her massive press coverage because of controversy, so a good call.

At this point I wouldn't call any press coverage that she got "massive". It'll probably get a little buzz for a few weeks and then disappear just like the rest of her singles.
I'm sorry, but it's the summer, and I don't want to be listening to this or thinking about this kinda stuff now. If I were stuck at home in the middle of the winter and more in my "sad song"/ballad mode, then maybe yes. And I actually really like this song. But if given the option between this and any run-of-the-mill more summer-oriented "fun" song, I think most people would choose the latter with little hesitation. Or at least I would.

If The Dixie Chicks were & Madonna is having difficulty (to the point of petitions as things gear up for the 4th single) getting heard on radio due to their political views & largely thanks to Clear Channel's staunch support of this President, how on earth will radio touch this ?

Not going to move this quite yet, but in the meantime the third single HAS been changed to Long Way To Happy (on the Sept 2006 Mainstream radio CD along w/ a 30 sec clip of DMP).

I don't even know what's right for her now. It's just too late. They need to focus in Europe now, so "Long Way To Happy" should be the fourth single there.

She's just had blonde hair extensions put in...maybe she's going to try to recrack the market? It's very unlike her to wear fake hair, espeically to small events...the only time I can remember her doing that would be for one-off photoshoots, videos, or that atrocious wig she wore at the 2003 EMAs. These are most definitely not the weave in, clip on kind, though. She did say at a show last week that she's going to be spending a lot of time here this fall. I think the best bet would be to completely relaunch the project and add "Heartbreaker" with two other songs that she liked from the sessions to a re-release. She could release LWTH or Heartbreaker as the new single and promote the crap out of it. Radio is definitely sick of her, but both songs are far more radio friendly than WK and especially SG...and all of this new stuff that we were expecting to rule radio this summer has been terribly underwhelming. This album is really good, and she knows that, so I don't think she'd just let it go to waste. I also think both LWTH and HB would be a breath of fresh air for radio with all of this R&B/pop crap that's going around. I don't think I've disliked radio this much since 2000-2002, and last year it was the best it had been in a decade. If she goes and does a radio tour, or even does interviews with the top 30 stations on the market, I think she'd have a chance.
