wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/sayaaliv.wmaThere seems to be some hype building around these guys, and MTV seems to be pushing them hard lately. It's a feel-good track, but it annoys me, mainly because of the lead singer.

I think we alerady have a thread for this one...I could be mistaken, though. This song is actually from 2004. My station back home played it in heavy rotation over the spring and summer, so I'm definitely burnt out on it, but it's so damn catchy.

I love the song because its very "anthemic". His voice does annoy but the whole song is still good.

I just paid attention to the lyrics. LMMFAO "When I watch you, I want to do you, right where you're standing. Right on the floor, on this dark day, right in plain view" followed with a verse about the.... ghetto? LOL
I LOVE THIS SONG!

Oh, I guess he really loves/loved the girl he wrote this song about!

The first time I heard this song it was like a song I've known all my life. I love it.

The lyrics:
So is this a World War II song? It kind of sounds to me like the "ghetto" is a Jewish ghetto and he's playing the role of a soldier in love with a Jewish girl in hiding during WWII.

Whoa, that's deep. I have a new respect for the song now, and the lyrics are kind of captivating. It amazes me how upbeat this song is, considering the subject matter. I guess it does have a happy ending though, since the couple it's based on survived.

I like the lyrics, but the song just doesn't work for me. It's trying to be historical, but the song is anything but timeless. This will be dated in a few years. I just don't like the idea of doing a song about a historical event from the 40's with a 2000's alternative style because I don't think the story is easily adapted to current themes.

To me this sounds more like a mid-90s song, if anything. I found this song to be grating at first, mostly because of the vocals, but it's grown on me.
