Yep this song was amazing, I rarely listen to it now though, where as Always be my baby is still fresh to me.
Daydream was a great album but i thought there was a little too much boring ballads. What i find interesting is that where as some other artists have masterpiece albums, i don't think Mariah has one, but that's not a critic. She has an amazing catalogue of great songs but i don't love every songs on her albums, except for Butterfly, Emotion and her debut, there are always many fillers tracks imo

What i find interesting is that where as some other artists have masterpiece albums, i don't think Mariah has one, but that's not a critic. Mariah's biggest problem is that with an album like Butterfly she got more personal and it only sold a small fraction of it's predecessor. I feel that it's become way more respected than it was back then. Her weakest set of lyrics ever gave her a huge comeback last year and one of the biggest albums of her career. It shows her and the label that people want the simple middle-school lyrics, not the introspective material.

I think it was for bad single choices, because "My All" was screaming to be the second single.

Well that and Sony wouldn't allow some of her songs to be commercially released.

How does a commercial single release help album sales? The major sentiment in the 90's was that it hurt them.

It's amongst my favorites from her. Definitely in my top 5. One of the best collabs ever.

I watched the one at the Grammys yesterday. So good! I actually just watched that on YouTube and holy cow! Her outfit was awful and her hair was hella messy. Her vocals were strong though, so props to ya Mariah! ;D I was listening to the album version the other day and fell in love with this song again. I LOVE the part when Mariah comes in at the begining of the song. Her voice sounds so pure and angelic; it also meshes really well with Boyz II Men's vocals. In general, I like Mariah's vocals from this period the most. She was still able to hit those high notes and do clear whispery vocals, but her full voice was so pure and fine to me. Anyway, I'm glad she hooked up with the Boyz to write this incredible song. It's definitely one of the best collabos EVER. And can we talk about the video? It's hella cheap, but it works for some reason. Mariah still had that wholesome image, standing the studio with the shorts and white tee shirt. She smiles a lot in the video, and seems to be having a great time. Indeed, it seems like Mariah and Boyz II Men had a lot of chemistry together.

I don't hate this song, but I've never been a big fan of it at all. When this was out, I couldn't believe how huge it was, I always skipped it on the album.

Oh. I never actually commented on the song? Anyway, I love it. I like "Fantasy" and "Always Be My Baby" way more, but I love this one too. I also like that she actually wrote it about someone in particular. It gives it a little more depth than her just writing some random song about death.

I don't especially like the album version or the live version. But I thought the 'Chucky's Remix' was hella smooth.

That's just what I was coming in here to say!
The album version was cheesy and the production was ten years dated even then, but I love the different versions (A Capella, Chucky's Remix).

yes the chorus is the best part of the song. this takes me back when my sisters were obssesed with B2M and because of them they bought "Daydream"
