I remember reading Billboard's R&B airplay chart and seeing this climbing really fast and not knowing what the hell it was. Then finally I heard it when I was out of town and it became an instant favorite. NYC radio didn't support this all that much... Hot 97 and WBLS played it like 2 times a day tops after it was already near the top of the R&B airplay chart.
This song has amazing instrumentation and one of the most humble but melodically powerful choruses I've ever heard. I always forget about this song now, but it probably is one of the greatest slow jams of the mid-90's.

I love this song, a great slow jam. Raphael Saadiq is very underrated.

This was a really nice song but I have to be honest, all the "Sukiyaki" sampling in the mid-90's was enough to drive anyone insane.
