Sheena lost a lot of old fans and gained some new ones with songs like this. She went from Barbra Streisand wannabe to hip-hop dance diva in a few years. This is my favorite by Sheena. Babyface and L.A. Reid were on fire around this period. They did recycle some elements of their work with The Whispers on "Rock Steady" for this though. There's a little piano chord at about two and a half minutes that's ripped right out of "Rock Steady". The video was fun too. She shamelessly went for the whole Paula and Jody type video. Unfortunately while this may have been her biggest hit, it was also her last big hit. It went #5 R&B and #2 on the Hot 100.

I love trampy Sheena. This is one of my favorite singles by her. "Strut" is probably my favorite though.

I loved this song. I didn't realize it went as far as No. 2 on the charts. Too bad I haven't heard this since 1989.
