I still question the appropriateness of grinding to this, totally and completely dismissing the request to leave even the smallest iota of "room for the Holy Spirit", with my overly-slutty and overly-made up 7th grade female peers of my town...me, an obnoxious 12 year old at the weekly Friday night "St. Vinnie's Dances" on the prowl for young lovin, answerin Freak Nasty's ubiquitous call to get "dippin'".
Though Freak Nasty was anything but a prolific Southern/Party rapper, I feel that the anthemic "Da' Dip" will go/has gone down as a signficant track in the genre. Not because of such "great" production or lyrics (although I gotta say, the synthesized three note octave ascension-repetition is damn good), but because of its immense explosion from the underground into the mainstream.

I still make fun of this song to this day. In fact "Are you Jimmy Ray" is the only song I make fun of more. But that doesn't mean it's bad. It's great for what it is.
For the millions of times that they played this, I'm a little surprised this didn't go Top 10.

I will admit I was jammin to this back in the days but now it's just one of them songs that is played out and was only HOT during it's release. This doesnt hold up well for me like many other songs from the '90s.
