As much as I respect Patti and do like her as a vocalist, I've never been a huge fan of her music-- especially her uptempos, most of which I think are incredibly tacky. She did release a handful of great ballads though and this is one of my favorites. The Burnin' album, which came out in 1991, was very successful for her in terms of singles. She scored three Top 5 R&B hits including "Somebody Loves You Baby" and "Feels Like Another One," both of which were even bigger hits than this one. This went to #4. It was a gospel ballad. I really love Patti's vocals on this one. She has a tendency to scream, but she gives a really tender and moving vocal performance on this. The choir is a nice touch too. This was the last time she'd go Top 5 on the R&B chart.

Burnin' was the soundtrack to many car rides with my parents in 91-92, especially this song. So incredible & uplifting!
