This is a good song, deserves to be a single, but I can understand why IDJ will go with So Lonely, that's gonna be a big hit.

What the f**k at the thought of her singing softly on this song? I actually think she sang it fine; I actually tried to imagine a toned down version of this song, and I think it doesn't work if she toned it down.

I found a fan-made 'extended version' of this. Awfully put together, but the first section sounds like a jazzy slow jam but at one point you hear the melody of the Stay The Night sample. So I'm guessing it's an instrumental of the original song that she sampled. . yes the song you heard was the sample - Betcha golly wow

Sorry but everytime i listen to this song and Mine Again i have a headache I'm not saying she should have been whispering, just not screaming over the chorus, it's like if she has no soul (and we know she has) "It's alright" from Leela James and "Bulls Eye" from Syleena Johnson, 2 songs produced by Kanye West, have a better chorus IMO because it's more melodic. I still love the verses though.

I don't dislike the song, I just don't understand why all the lambs hype it up. I'm definitely not a lamb, but I was a big fan of Mariah during the Daydream era, and that era remains the core of Mariah's career imo. "Stay The Night" sounds like it's right out of that era, so for me, that's what all the hype is about.

Mariah was saying they were considering releasing this as a single, but with the way Kanye has been talking about Mariah, she might change her plans.
I was thinking if they weren't have issues, they could have done a remix with Kanye and John Legend!

Me too, maybe if she sang it softly in the chorus and not screaming all over it, i would probably looove this song though Me too. I hate the way she's screaming on this. IMO, she simply screaming with absolutely no soul nor emotion.

Well, she could always release it without Kanye and just do a mix with John Legend.

I'm glad to see this in the running as being the 5th single considering the label wasn't all that crazy about it.

Actually, I don't think it is overrated at all. I don't think TEOM would be quite the album it is without this song on it.

STN is a great song.
But I don't necessarily think it has a very commercial sound. It would definitely be a hit if released, but I doubt it'd be as big as any of the other TEOM releases. However, people would certainly appreciate the quality of the record.
Again, I think it's most important for Mariah to re-establish her reputation as a maker of quality music, rather than just a hitmaker... So, even if this song isn't an instant #1, Mariah would do much for her reputation by releasing this song and allowing many people to hear some of her best work.
