This is one of the best songs on 'The Emancipation Of Mimi' album. Kanye and Mariah really created a smash, like everybody else i also wish this song would be a single someday, but we really dont know if that will happen. Mariah's vocals are like as if sung back during the daydream era yet the production is so fresh, this slow jam deserves a release. What are your thoughts, does this song have #1 potential in US and the rest of the world..

without a doubt, STN has #1 written all over it.

I won't say that I'm great at picking singles, because I really thought SIO would flop. But I really think this would be an undeniable hi t-- especially while Kanye is hot. Even in pre-release interviews, MC said that many people agreed that this was the best song on the album...
But, to be honest, maybe there's some sort of political drama preventing it from being released (Kanye making ridiculous comments in the press and all). Everyone knows this is a hot record.

I really think this would be an undeniable hi t-- especially while Kanye is hot. I always thought that this would be a hit, even before Kanye became hot. It's such a great track on its own and could've done well without people knowing who produced it. I think the fact that kanye did produce it, just adds to its hotness.

I adore STAY THE NIGHT,it's my favourite track fro TEOM! I love her vocals,I love the beat,I love the melody...I'm not saying the song is perfect because nothing can be perfect, but STN is almost perfect!

Let's just say if Mariah asked me to Stay the Night , I wouldn't say no.

But, to be honest, maybe there's some sort of political drama preventing it from being released (Kanye making ridiculous comments in the press and all). Everyone knows this is a hot record. I know earlier this year, LA Reid was shooting down the idea of it being a single. I don't know exactly why but he said it sounded too old school from what I heard, which doesn't really make sense because a lot of old school sounding tracks are doing well. I agree though. This is the second most obvious hit behind "We Belong Together" and while I still like the other singles, she released four inferior ones over this.

I love this song. It's the only song on the album that's on par with "We Belong Together." It's probably in my Top 3 of Mariah non-singles of her entire career. This is the second most obvious hit behind "We Belong Together" and while I still like the other singles, she released four inferior ones over this.

The only thing we can hope is that she works more with Kanye in the future, since it looks like she won't release this track.

This song is amazing. Her vocals are great and the production is awesome. I really want it to be the 5th and final single!

^I highly doubt that'll happen after the success these 2 have had this year. I mean, JD put WBT at #2 on his Top 25 on BET.

I like it a lot but I don't know if it's as much of an obvious hit as people think.

I like it a lot but I don't know if it's as much of an obvious hit as people think. It would probably go Top 3 on all 3 formats though lol. Kanye and Mariah are the 2 biggest artists of the year. It would have been a hit.

The thing about this is it doesn't even sound like a Kanye production to me. It sounds like Mariah during her Daydream era, namely "Slipping Away." It has a very 90's sound. Every other Kanye song I can think of has a 00's sound with throwbacks to like the 70's or some other decade before the 90's.

For some reason, I just can't put into words how good this I think this song is. For me, it's just one of those rare moments where you have something that's so out of this world, that there hasn't been a word created yet that really does it justice.

The JD and Mariah thing is becoming as successful as Missy and Timbaland....... I wouldn't mind if Kanye works with Mariah more in the future.... just as long as he does as minimal singing on the tracks as possible

I like this song and all, but i don't think it would be a hit. Well it would because she has so much hype, but it wouldn't nearly do wha tthe other singles did.

I found a fan-made 'extended version' of this. Awfully put together, but the first section sounds like a jazzy slow jam but at one point you hear the melody of the Stay The Night sample. So I'm guessing it's an instrumental of the original song that she sampled. Annnnyway, now I really wanna hear a remix of STN like this with toned down vocals etc and a slower feel. It would be so hot.

I don't get the hype about this song. Me too, maybe if she sang it softly in the chorus and not screaming all over it, i would probably looove this song though
