wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/snowtake.wmaWith Snow Patrol's fifth album A Hundred Million Suns set for an October release date, we should be hearing the first single any day now. I can't wait! While I wouldn't be surprised if they went for a "Chasing Cars" knock-off, I have a feeling this will be a rockier uptempo more like "Hands Open".

One of the all time dance classics. First released in 1993, it was hugely influential, providing the template for many subsequent hits, including Faithless' "Insomnia". It has been remixed thousands of times and peaked at #12 in the UK. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUt-Gn80hD0

"Something Anything" is the first single from Travis' sixth album Ode to J. Smith. It's out on September 15, with the album following two weeks later.

Oh dear. I'm not sure where this has come from, but it basically samples "Wearing My Rolex" and adds a stupid dance. The single is out on September 22. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnar90VEwe4If you so desire you can learn the dance here.

I thought this had a thread, but maybe not. It's the third single from Konk and is out on September 22 in the UK. It's pleasant, but nothing fantastic, a bit drone-y. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-Dh58BxJdU

Where did you get the title from, Alex? I'm reading that the first single is called "Lovers Are Losing" and is out out on September 29.

Something about the remix doesn't quite work. Hopefully it becomes a hit, but they need to release "Sonnrise" next.

S Club 7's biggest hit ever was "Don't Stop Movin'", the first single from their third album Sunshine. Released in April 2001, it spent two non-consecutive weeks at number one in the UK. It is now regarded as a pop classic. It was never my favourite by them at the time, but it's certainly held up the best. I actually only found out that it samples "Billie Jean" yesterday. lol www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2q3FJTFgtkMash-up with "Billie Jean": www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVvm-iVDmy4

The first single from James' second album is set to premiere on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show next week. Apparently 'fans will love it' and 'it has great production'.

"The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver" is my second favourite song on Elbow's fourth album The Seldom Seen Kid behind "One Day Like This". You can download a live version from their website, www.elbow.co.uk/. It's under the news section.
