X Factor finalist, Chris Rene, is releasing his debut single, "Young Homie," next month via Epic. It is an original song he auditioned with, and has logged over 12 million hits on YouTube:
The studio version leaked, but it still sounds unfinished.
A live version of the song made the top 50 on iTunes, so people are definitely responding to it well. He's not the greatest singer or rapper, but I see star potential. He's like a male Cher Lloyd. The song itself is kind of dated, but at the same time, it reminds me of something that Mike Posner would release.

I think this is SO by-the-numbers and generic, but it would be cool to see them both get their first #1.

This is having a weird chart run at radio so far. Hopefully it officially being set for adds can stabilize it.

She's been promoting "Video Games" everywhere, so I'm not quite sure if this will be a single. But the video looks expensive, and this is is a great song, so I'm sure they'll do something with it. It so haunting and atmospheric. Love the drums on this too.

Azealia Banks is a rapper from Harlem, New York who is garnering a lot of buzz from her single, "212." It has over 2M+ hits on YouTube. She is rumored to be signed under Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam imprint. She recently placed third in BBC's Sound of 2012, and actually has more of a fan base right now internationally than in the US.

Third single from "Up All Night." This one really does sound like an album track from one of the boy band's albums that was released over a decade ago. "Gotta Be You" is still the best I've heard from them.

Third single from "Sticks + Stones." Produced by Max Martin. Out in February in the UK. The new version features X Factor US finalist, Astro. They both just signed to Epic in the states, so that leads me to believe that it will be her first single here. Video:

Most Added today at Pop. It looks like this will be big. I still think it's overrated, but good for her,

This is pulling in adds at Rhythmic. It's alright. Island Def Jam has been trying to launch his career for a few years now, and I don't know if this really do anything. I wouldn't mind it becoming a hit though.

This has been added to Cool New Music on AllAccess. He wrote it for a new ESPN promo. It's currently #35 on iTunes.
This is corny as f**k. But it looks like it just might be a hit.

There's a new version out with T-Pain. I wonder if they're replacing Enrique.
