"Papa Don't Preach" is a song by Madonna and the second single from her third studio album True Blue (1986). It was released in summer 1986 (see 1986 in music) and reached number one in the United States, Australia and the UK, where it was the eighth biggest seller of the year.
I absolutely LOVE this song, I still listen to this in a regular basis.

I love it, and pretty much everything else she released in the 80's, but I don't revisit this one much. I prefer the other singles from that album.

I think "Die Another Day" recycled the violin intro from this song. Anyway, I like it for the subject matter. But that's about it.
