Goes for adds on August 29. This is like the third unofficial first single. It's weird this doesn't have an Alternative Adds date but it has a Pop Adds date.

No alternative adds date? Sellouts! But I think its going to be the comeback single of the year.

This is is the first song with a add date, so it's the first official single. I'm not wooried about them changing the song every month. I hope this is good, really good.

I remember "Bling" having an adds date for Alternative, but it was pulled.

Weren't they the ones who didn't want a single because it was too poppy? I thought they were concerned about not being too pop, and they set their first single for pop and not alternative sounds too odd to me.

LOL. This is going to Alternative too, and first. They just didn't put an adds date on All Access's Alternative section yet because that department didn't update their page. The same thing happened with "All These Things That I've Done".

I was about to say i am sure Brandon would raise holy hell if it wasn't sent to alternative first before pop.

This can be huge on Pop. It won't fly up the Pop chart out of the gate, but I'm guessing it will be a huge Alternative hit, a huge video hit, and a huge downloads hit. That combo should be enough to cement this for success at Pop.

I think this will go top 40, but not much further...it's not nearly as accessible as Mr. Brightside or Somebody Told Me, even though I prefer it to both of them. It's much more in the vein of All These Things I've Done, but it's even heavier, which also might be a turn off to pop...not to mention the Jesus reference. I hope Lu'Conte does a remix of this like he did for Brightside, becuase that would surely help...or even a guitars down version.

I disagree.. I think this is WAY more accessible than "Somebody Told Me"

I know it's not as jarring having a band do a song in this style as it is a female pop artist, but if "Don't Bother" couldn't even go Top 20, I don't see this becoming their biggest hit.

Good singe. I'm still way more excited to hear the song "Bling" though.
and I don't really care if does anything on Pop or not. As long as it goes Top 5 on alternative I'll be pleased.

I don't see how this and "Don't Bother" are comparable at all though. Shakira is expected to make booty-shaking reggaeton influenced songs. She's a Pop artist. The Killers are expected to make songs just like this. They are an Alternative band. Plus, this song is SO much better and catchier than that song anyway. I'm not saying I expect this to go to #1, but this will have the hype, the MTV support, and the digital sales to red flag Pop's attention.

That's an interesting compairison. I think part of Shakira's problem was the fact that the song to somebody just turning on the radio for the first time hearing it would seem nonsensical... Whereas if you were to turn on "WYWY" in the middle of the song you could still get into it. People are going to hate me for saying this but this song sounds like a more mature Panic! at the Disco and that's what's hot at radio.

Shakira is expected to make booty-shaking reggaeton influenced songs. She is? No way, not by me and her fans that have been there since the 90s. We all know that Shakira has more substance and her music is way more about "hot beats".

ROFL at "Don't Bother" being compared to this song.

My point is new wave does not have a major prescence at pop radio. The Killers struggled with most of the singles from their last album, "Cool" was considered a flop at CHR/Pop, "Don't Bother" flopped, most other dance-rock acts have flopped... It's not like The Killers are riding a sound that's hot at mainstream radio.

Didn't Mr. Brightside go Top 10 on Pop? I predict this will do similar to what "Somebody told me" did. I also don't understand the "Don't Bother" comparisons. That song isn't even considered new wave.

It's an amazing song, but I think it's core is alternative and that's the only place it's going to do well.

I'm into this... I don't know about CHR though. I can see a lot of stations passing on this one. I think we'll have a better idea of what this will do after next week, but I think this will, at the very least, make Top 40.
