This is one of my favorite Country songs, and one of my fave LeAnn songs.
IMO, Diane Warren did a fantastic job on writing this and I thought LeAnn did an amazing job singing it.

This began her trend of bombing at Country. It peaked in the 40's I believe. Trisha Yearwood's version went to #2. Trisha did an infinitely better job emoting this, but I like Leann's production better.

It peaked in the 40's, seriously?
This was one of her biggest hits at Pop/AC though, right?

Hot 100: #2 Adult Contemporary: #1 Hot AC: #10 Rhythmic: #22 Country: #43
Trisha's version went to #2 Country, #23 on the Hot 100, and she won a Grammy for her version.

Trisha's version was much better IMO (the whole Grammy snafu was absolutely hilarious). The name of the song is "How Do I Live," why is Leann pronouncing it "leave?" That always irked me about her rendition.

Leann recorded the song first for the movie Conair, the producers didn't like her version, so they had Trisha record it. Trisha's was released as a single for the soundtrack, Leann released her version as a single from her own album at pretty much the same time.

LeAnn's version was better IMO. I just don't like Trisha's for some reason.

LeAnn's version was better IMO. I just don't like Trisha's for some reason. I like leann's version more too! Not necessarily because it was better, but because Trisha's version was played to death. I needed to hear someone else's voice

You listened to a lot of country radio in 97?

This is one of those songs that would be nostalgic, but it isn't, simply for the fact that it was played for so long as a recurrent that I no longer exclusively associate it with a particular time period.

I heard the dance remix on Z100 about 4 times in the past 2 days, and I barely get to have the radio on these days. Seems like an odd choice for them to add as a Gold these days.
