I agree, this is well deserved. I love it.

Looks like this will beat The Fray for #1. They seemed almost a lock for the top a few weeks ago. Bee will be there in 2 weeks.

I'm so glad this finally got to #1. As big as "WBT" was, I never heard people singing it or banging it in their car. Everywhere I go people are singing "to da left, to da left!" And every damn car that goes by has this on blast.

Everywhere I go people are singing "to da left, to da left!" And every damn car that goes by has this on blast. The picture my mind paints of this area you describe makes me laugh... you must live in a pretty dense urban-music loving area... The only place I hear this is on the radio (THANK GOODNESS). I love the song, but I'd go crazy if I had to hear it as often as you say you do.

My area isn't overly urban at all. Even the old hags at my job are singing this. You know you have a hit when grandma is singing "To da left! To da left!"
Hot senior-citizen crossover smash!

A few months ago I probably would have agreed, and been pissed that Beyonce was #1.
But for this song? Totally deserved. I also hope she gets the message that she should do more stuff like this. It would have annoyed me more if she got #1 with some crap track on the album, but I'm thrilled that people have received this well.
This is definitley in contention for my favorite song of 2006, with the only competition being "Waiting on the World To Change".

And every damn car that goes by has this on blast. While I have heard tons of people blasting Irreplaceable, I heard EVERYONE singing We Belong Together. Whether it was people from my senior year of high school, all of the ladies and girls in the cafeteria my freshman year of college...the best was when it would come on at bars and everyone would go nuts. I think people's recognition of We Belong Together was what made the era so great for me...it proved that she had solidified her comeback.

I never heard people singing "We Belong Together" around here, but the "TO THE LEFT TO THE LEFT" thing is like a catch phrase now.

Beyonce was an idiot and submitted "Listen" to pop instead.

They could submit it next year I suppose, unless her album wins the R&B category.

I was just gonna ask if this would be eligible for the Record/Song of the Year at the 2008 Grammys. But whoa by that time it will feel ultra-old. But I guess You're Beautiful is the same kinda thing with this year.

There's a spanish version for this song. You can hear it at perezhilton. It's good, I'm surprised.
