I definitely don't think they cemented a real place in history aside from chart success. Definitely agree... Boyz II Men were popular, but they essentially re-released the same song nine or ten times until people got sick of hearing it. They racked up time at number one by being formulaic, which certainly won't earn them a place in history. I think Beyonce's kind of done the same thing (to a lesser degree): Even though I don't like "Irreplaceable," I think it's the first record she's done that really of breaks the mold. The way I see it: The easiest way to ensure a song's success is actually to avoid anything truly innovative and to just follow popular trends. So, it's no wonder to me that an act can be wildly popular but have very few memorable hits when all is said and done.

And like Josh said, Boyz II Men are pretty much nostalgia now. I mean seriously, the last time I heard any of their songs was on a re-run of VH1's I Love The 90'sWow really? I hear them a lot on AC radio. Maybe it's just the area I live in....

Beyonce has now moved into the list of top ten artists with the most weeks at #1, tying Paul McCartney for tenth place. This week she moves into ninth place, tying Whitney Houston.

She only has 5 more weeks and get that longest running #1 record of the 2000's. Watch your back Mimi!

Gwen, bump your AI performance. Nelly, do some payola at Urban! This is getting critical lol, I'd even rather have H**der or Nickelf**k take #1 if it means keeping the record away from Beyonce.

I think another two or three weeks may be given, but to get another month and a half is a lot when you have simultaneously declining bullets and sales.

Her sales are dropping so fast. The gap between her and Fall Out Boy wasn't that large.

This song is STILL around? Every time it comes on the radio or TV I change the channel but it feels like I've been doing that for 2 months now (which I have), so when I see and hear that this is still #1 and blah blah blah its like...wow...
Even the other day I was on the subway and this, i dunno if I could say teenager, some people u cant even tell their age, but she was listening to an Mp3 player and BLASTING this song. I could hear it perfectly and I was like 5 feet away from her. So I can only imagine how her ears must have been feeling. Then after Irreplaceable came "Smack That" and Give It Up To Me. lol in that situation I COULDNT get away from Irreplaceable, I couldnt change the channel!

Next week she takes on Madonna! What a f**king joke. Seriously. It actually reminds me of something with the UK charts. The Beatles have the most top 5 singles on the British single charts. Sounds good, right? Which act has the second-most? Rolling Stones? Madonna? Whitney Houston? nope. it's motherf**king STEPS. seriously. and I actually *liked* their cheesy sh*t (and still do lmao), but it's preposterous that they have that record. granted, Beyonce deserves it more than Steps, but she doesn't seem all that 'legendary' yet.

Wrong! Madonna has second-most. Fact. Steps aren't even in the Top 10 I don't think. And the Beatles aren't number 1, Elvis Presley is with 54 (Madonna has 44).

Have Westlife ever had a single that DIDN'T go top 5? it's kind of sad by now. at least you can laugh at the Steps thing because it's over and done with and something like that would NEVER work today (and i'm surprised Clay Aiken gets so much sh*t for supposedly hiding his sexuality when H was obviously gay as f**k and nobody even bothered until he came out years after the fact.) . Westlife are still going and probably will never quit.
anyway, back to Beyonce. i'm still sick of this song.
