Brilliant - yet again. I hate the religious references, though.

This sounds AMAZING based on the iTunes clip, although I'll have to wait till I get back home to download this in full since the internet here is slower than dial-up in 1997.

This is going to have a Top 30 debut on the Hot 100 and "Violet Hill" may not even debut Top 40. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png)

I love that they have this "new sound" now. The production is really good, it's not super catchy but I like it.

Debuts at #15 on the Hot 100. In other words, #15 is likely the highest they'll see on that chart this era. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

This is a single, is it not?

Nope. However, they have an advert for this instead of the lead single on the front page of iTunes, hence the random success.

This song is incredible. One of my favorite singles by them now.

This is a single, is it not? It's not. I have this creeping suspicion that it might become the second single now, though.

Yeah... this is such an amazing song. I love the strings. I feel like it's great Sunday driving music on a sunny day or something.

I knew they were going to make this a single after downloads took off so quickly. I think this is great for HAC... but bring on "Lost!"

There's a commercial just for this song out now from Apple. It's not advertising any product, just the single.

So far the only place this is a single is the US (and I suppose Canada)... and only at HAC. So... I wonder if they'll even bother with a video for this?

Falls from #15 to #41 on the Hot 100.
Have no fear... it's going to go back up again next week! ;D

It's weird how Billboard are allowing this to chart, yet the OCC in the UK deems it a downpayment on the album and therefore disqualified it from the chart.
FYI: It would have charted at #13 in the UK the week Violet Hill debuted at #8 if it had have been allowed to chart.
