This is tearing up the charts! I hope it hits #1! It's already the second most played song on my iPod. How many spins would that be? Only 59. It's actually the most played since I got my computer in March of 2006, because that's when all my play counts reset.

In the last couple of hours this has knocked "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" off the top of UK iTunes. With the CD single out this week and the Clean Version at #40... can you say 'number one'?

Because people in the UK find this funny. In 2005 a comedian called Peter Kay made a spoof music video to an old song called "(Is This The Way) To Amarillo" during the live telecast of Comic Relief. It got such a positive reaction that the original song was re-issued and sold over a million copies, becoming the biggest song of the year and spending seven weeks at number one, knocking the official song off the top after just one week. They clearly tried to repeat the trick again this year doing practically the same thing, but with this Proclaimers song. It has already spent two weeks at number one, knocking the official cover of "Walk This Way" off the top (it fell 2-14 this week). Yes, I know:

So, which song is #1? That new version or the old one?

The new version with the 'comedians' singing the first half and adlibbing over the top. The original is also back in the top 40, albeit in the lower reaches.

Scott Mills played a multi-language mega-mix of this on Radio 1 today.
The Mandarin one is hilarious!

Yep! This should be #1 next week! Could you imagine if they hadn't released this to itunes early and released it with the album yesterday? It would be HUGE! This song is so hot right now. Perfect timing for the album release!

This is now has a smaller bullet than Pink, who is ahead of her. It needs a new boost if it's to really make it to #1.

#3, #13, and #18 on iTunes. That's incredible seeing the same song three times in the Top 20. Meanwhile, Timbo's the second version of Timbo's song is all the way down to #38 indicating a steady fall. Maybe Avril really WILL sneak in a week at #1 on the Hot 100.
