Yes, emo-pop cover of the Cyndi Lauper song. The band actually has a pretty big following among high school and college kids. This song is their current single and up to #71 at Pop radio. This year's "The Boys Of Summer"? myspace.com/quietdrive

This is terrible.
At least the Atari's version of "Boys of Summer" brought something new to the song, and it wasn't a song that was covered thousands of times, so the bar wasn't incredibly high (eventhough the original is incredibly well known and a classic).
This is like the 8,454,642nd version of "Time After Time". They contributed absolutely nothing to this song and the vocas are mediocre at best.

It's not quite as awful as I was expecting, but that's not to say it's quality either. KDWB is giving it a lot of airplay but I'm assuming that's partly because Quietdrive is from the Twin Cities. I don't see an adds date on All Access and the bullet is nearly gone so I don't really see it going much further at this point.

It's just too soon after the Sarah McLachlan cover.

I don't like this at all. This song has been remade way too many times as it is. Not one has come close to the original IMO.

I actually love their version, but it's so old to me.

I don't mind this version. It's not great but it's not horrible either. I also don't mind it being a single. This has already become one of those songs we'll likely see get turned into an updated radio smash once a decade.
Anyway, I really like the Quietdrive song called "Rise From The Ashes."

They are really playing this all the time at KDWB which is my local pop station. I don't listen to it much but it seems like whenever I turn it on they're playing this thing. The local Hot AC station has also been playing it a lot. I don't really like it personally, and I have no idea what its appeal is other than the band being Minnesotan. Then again, we really love our Minnesota bands here and will use almost any excuse to play them.

Heard this on KISSFM tonight. I actually liked it better than the first time I heard it, but I still don't love that they kinda screwed with the instrumental solo, which is my favorite part of the original. It doesn't look like this will go much farther chart-wise, but if it did I'd be fine with it.
