I really hope this song catches on here. It would be just awesome.

That's really good for her!

This is great news, although it makes me even more nervous about the follow-up single. It should definitely be "You Know I'm No Good".

I can see her performing very similarly to Gnarls Barkley in the US.

I can see her performing very similarly to Gnarls Barkley in the US. In terms of the charts, yeah. Except I think she'll have success here long after "Rehab" even if she never gets another radio hit, unlike Gnarls. As it is Amy's album was selling tons here even before she had a hit. Gnarls didn't see any sales till after "Crazy" took off. Amy is famous!

Maybe I'm just pessimistic when it comes to the US music scene, but I just don't see her having tons of success after this album. I hope you're right.

Yeah. I think she's pretty much done after "Rehab". She'll sell a lot with this album for a one-hit wonder though. She just has a gimmick (and a good one at that) that is going to wear off really quickly. "Rehab" is just an excellent song. Everything else is going to sound like a lesser version.

Which is why I think they released "You Know I'm No Good" first. She already had a bit of a reputation and they didn't want it to be all she's known for, which "Rehab" essentially confirms to people with little knowledge of her.

"You Know I'm No Good" is already a pretty famous song here too though. People who don't follow the charts wouldn't know where it peaked onthe Hot 100. That song has quietly been making its way around. It's already way more known than any other non-"Crazy" Gnarls single.

I wonder whether she'll return to the doo-wop gimmick for her next album. Frank definitely had a little bit of a retro vibe, but not quite like Back To Black... I think the doo-wop strategy might get her another hit album, but it's probably not good for her long-term success to stick to a formula that people might get tired of.

I want this to go to #1 on the Hot 100, but I don't think it will unless she performs at a big show or something. It's been stuck at the same postition on iTunes for a while.
I also think that they should release "Tears Dry On Their Own" here as the second single.

I love that song. The chorus is hot.

I think the sample could help "Tears Dry On Their Own" here in terms of familiarity. That and "You Know I'm No Good" are the only ones I think have potential to be hits after "Rehab".

Amy says she hates Frank and it pains her to listen to it. She says she likes Back to Black and I think a new album would sound more like that. "Tears Could Dry on their Own" could have a shot but if this song would make her a gimmick that one would solidify it.

I think Amy's main weapon against one-hit wondedom is the fact that people actually seem to be interested in her as a celebrity/person.
