The single "A-Punk" is out next Monday in the UK - can it get into the Top 40?!? It damn well deserves to. Currently #56 on iTunes.

They're playing at my university next Tuesday...I can't wait to see them because I hear they're even better live than on record.

I'm glad. But MTV is totally repeating rather recent "Artist of the Week" acts now. Lupe Fiasco was "Artist of the Week" twice in a two month period and now Vampire Weekend are too. I really want "A-Punk" to blow up in downloads.

Vampire Weekend is the cover story of Spin Magazine's March issue. Congrats! You can actually read the article here

Great SNL performance. I was kind of shocked that they did M79, since it's definitely not a highlight nor probable future single - but it worked out really nicely with the string quartet. I can't wait to see them Tuesday!

Definitely a good performance, being that they sound as good live as they do on record.
The bad news? The sounded exactly like they do on record, lol.

I saw the SNL performance and didn't get them at all, although I found their sound somewhat intriguing. Is this one of those bands you have to listen to like 20 times before you finally get into it?

Is this one of those bands you have to listen to like 20 times before you finally get into it? It took me about 3 listens of the album to be hooked.

The album was definitely a grower for me. A lot of the last half blended slightly on first listen, but now I love it all.

They just played outside the UC at Tulane (where I go to college) and I still can't get over how good the show was. I got to interview the band before the show for our local station (WTUL) and they're f**king awesome. In all honesty, I was a bit worried since they came off pretentious in the Spin article, but they are extremely down to earth and hilarious. The show was incredible - they played everything from the debut except The Kids Don't Stand A Chance, in addition to Ladies of Cambridge, California, and a song they had never played before. Ezra's live vocals are amazing and they sound just as good, if not better than on the album. They honestly have so much energy, and the turnout was huge...lots of dancing, which they really dug, as well as sunny New Orleans (they said they usually play in cold dark venues). These guys are going to go a long way.

Just reading about them I would think i'd despise them (snooty Ivy League kids who appropriate African music), but I really like their album a lot. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth though that they skipped out on the Langerado festival to do SNL though that might have been best for them as a band. Thankfully I didn't buy tickets to go to the f**king Everglades for 2 or 3 bands I like.

They have a new song on the soundtrack to the movie Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. It's called "Ottoman".

They covered a Fleetwood Mac song called "Everywhere" (which I've never heard) for an Australian radio show. This apparently aired about a month ago, but I just discovered it and it's actually pretty good. Ha! It would have made a better single than "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa." www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcYT8TzUarI
