This is the next single off the Sasha disc. Kanye was originally supposed to appear on it, but didn't make it in time. Might be on the remix.
While pop radio will be serviced with “Halo,” urban radio will get “Ego.” Beyoncé kicks it old school on the uptempo throwback R&B jam off I Am… Sasha Fierce produced and written by the singer, Elvis “BlacElvis” Williams, and Harold Lilly (Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name”). Loud trumpets and organs infiltrate the funky track, which was a favorite among the media present.
The hook goes something like this: “You got a big ego, such a huge ego / I love his big ego / It’s too big, it’s too wide, it’s too strong, it won’t fit, it’s too much / He walk like this because he can back it up.”
B even shows her cocky side: “I talk like this because I can back it up / I got a big ego.”
Mathew disclosed that they reached out to Kanye West about appearing on “Ego,” but he wasn’t available at the time. However, a remix is not out of the question.

Those lyrics sound like one big horrible innuendo.

It sounds like a Rich Harrison mess. Trumpets, uptempo, funky throwback? I hope I'm wrong...

So is this song about cock it sure sounds like it to me. So Sasha is a Tranny? And duh Kanye isn't going to appear on a song about egos that he himself didn't write his ego won't allow it because he can do better than Beyonce's ego.

Just when you thought we’d exhausted all our exclusive Beyoncé news, we’ve got another hot one for you…
As we reported earlier this week, Beyoncé’s camp had been working to get Kanye West to appear on her next single “Ego.” It makes sense, right? Well, we can exclusively confirm that the mission has been accomplished. Kanye went into a studio in Brazil this week to record his verse for “Ego.” The rap wasn’t completed in time to make B’s new album, but it will be released as a remix in the near future.
“Ego” is slated to be the second urban single off Beyoncé’s highly anticipated third album I Am… Sasha Fierce (Nov. 18). The superstar gets cocky on the club-friendly R&B jam, which was written and produced by Elvis “BlacElvis” Williams and Harold Lilly.
Remember where you heard it first.

This does not sound too good. I hope Kanye isn't doing his vocoder sh*t.

I was hoping for a tight uptempo, but I think Kanyes verse will be good.

This is more of a grower, it doesn't strike on the first few listens and doesn't seem like single material. It will blow up regardless, I'm sure...and even moreso if Kanye is attached to it.

I think Diva would have made a great Urban/Rhythmic single.

The production on this is sooooo hot. This is so summery though, seems awkward to release it in the dead of winter.
