I CAN'T THINK OF A SYNONYM BUT I AGREE ENTIRELY!
Seriously though, what made them think that might actually do something on radio? It sounds like it belongs in the 1960s.

He is going to be least successful winner of the American Idol and probably is going to have the crown for a loooong time

Lyrically, this song is repulsive.
But I kinda like "the idea" of it.
I think I'd love this if Huey Lewis or Tom Jones were singing and the lyrics weren't a joke.

I agree. Taylor was always going to be a hard sell to radio. I think something like this was probably the thing he could do that still sounds like him yet could be kind of successful.

I haft to disagree, I think the song is great! It's simple, people aren't as complex humans as u think,we live in a world where people long to smile and a song like Sexyback is a #1 hit. I think Taylor's song is a trillion times better than "Sexyback" or Rod Stewart's remake of the CCR classic! It's also catchy and i can sing every word after hearing it just 3 times now! The cd sounds great & I see 4 hits off the cd. AC will eat him up,Hot AC will too. And Pop has trouble playin' Rob Thomas these days so if he can just hit Top 40 there he's doing wonders. But I actually think he's gonna be around a while and is the 3rd best Idol ever behind Clarkson &Daughtry. Sorry Clay & Bo,Taylors more talented!!!

Now that I've heard the whole album, I don't understand why this is the lead single. Not a single song on the album compromises his style, but there are songs that actually have an ounce of a contemporary vibe to them. This just reeks of 80's blue collar rock garbage.

"The Maze" is a smash hit!!!!, also "Dream Myself Awake" is very good as is "The Right Place" written by Bryan Adams. "Soul Thing" is good as well but probably not as a single. "The Runaround" i thought was refreshing as a throwback and kind of has that Tell Her About It Billy Joel feel to it. Sure it's cheesy but it's meant to be, i mean it's rocket science compared to Rap Music, but "The Maze" will be the big smash from the CD!!!!

I can think of plenty of rappers who would blow Taylor Hicks away when it becomes to being intellectual.

I read a review of the album which led me to check it out, so I actually listened to this song in full for the first time. Honestly, it's really not a bad song. It's far from great, but it's not by any means godawful. It DOES make for a godawful single choice. I honestly can't figure out why they chose this.
