This is a great song, nice video too. It was doing well at Urban at first, but the bullet is falling apart.

For some reason, this song reminds me of Toni Braxton.

I downloaded this when it was the free song on iTunes a few weeks ago. This song is AMAZING. I loved it so much I bought the whole album on iTunes.

The production is excellent and she sounds really good but the song doesn't do anything for me for some reason.

It's looking like this could possibly make the Top 20 at Urban. I hope it goes to Top 10.

The recent Grammy nominations may have been one big ball of f**kery, but they did happen to get one thing right by nominating newcomer Melanie Fiona in the “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance” for her hit single “It Kills Me”, which has left the humble singer almost speechless.
“I cried the happiest tears of my life when I heard the news,” says Melanie. “This is something I have dreamed of my entire life. I am a new artist, and to be recognized by the Grammy committee as a nominee in the company of such talented and established artists is my highest honor. I truly feel like the little engine that could.”[Source]
“It Kills Me” has proved to be Melanie’s breakout hit as it continues to climb the charts this week with new peaks of #8 on the R&B charts and #75 on the Hot 100.

This is a nice little surprise upon my return to US radio. This is ALWAYS on. It sounds like a classic. Her vocals sound think at parts, but at other she belts out and she sounds really powerful. I love the dramatic harmony "ooo" parts before the chorus- sounds like something from the 50's in a good way!

R&B/Soul songstress Melanie Fiona has defied the odds and scored her first #1 single with “It Kills Me” knocking Trey Songz off the top of R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart.
This is an amazing accomplishment considering lack of promotion, and that Melanie’s debut album The Bridge was pushed back repeatedly and leaked about 5 months before it’s US release, as well as her first single “Give It to Me Right” failing to do much on the charts.
“It Kills Me” is also nominated for a Grammy in the category of “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance”.

Congrats on #1 though I don't think it's that dramatic. This sounds like an R&B #1 so it's not suprising at all that it would do well there when her poppy first single did not.

I think its a big surprise that a new, no name R&B artist, singing a old school R&B record, without a big hype machine behind her, currently has the #1 R&B song in the US. in November the song was barely in the top 20 at urban. This is a BIG accomplishment for her.
She deserves the Grammy for this song. If she wins over Beyonce, then all is well within the world!
