It depends on why you didn't like "Don't Bother". The album is incredible, but if you're not into that whole Cure vibe and you only like latin pop Shakira, you'd hate the album. is the album like "hips don't lie"

This apparently samples a song on the Dirty Dancing 2 Soundtrack called "Dance like this" that's originally a song by Wyclef. yepp I think shakira's version kills the original sample!

The funniest part of "Hips Don't Lie" me is this part:
I think if anyone was ever dumb enough to actually use that as a pick-up line, the woman would more likely get than go mad.

I remember Shakira before her American Debut.........she was REALLY different! She wasn't even blonde to begin with.... She went blonde 2 years before her American Debut, after her hair turned pink from the red dye she was using. Of course, conspiracy theorists think she did it just to appear less Latin. Actually, Oral Fixation 2 is pretty similar to her Donde Estan Los Ladrones? album. Both have one belly-dancing song (Hips Don't Lie/Ojos Asi), one mariachi hybrid (Animal City /Ciega, Sordomuda), one violn based ballad (Your Embrace/Tu), one religion themed song (How Do You Do?/Octavo Dia), one bitter ex rock song (Don't Bother/Si Te Vas). The difference is that Oral Fixation 2 also has a pop song (Hey You) and a dance song (Timor), while the remainder of DELL is all rock songs.

The video for this song looks so old to me. It looks like it would have come out in like 1991. It reminds me of a video Michael Jackson would have done for Dangerous. It immediately struck me as a mix between "Black Or White" and "Remember The Time".

Shakira now has her third Top 10 at CHR/Pop and she gets it almost 4 years after the last.

Wow, good for her. The song is hot, so it deserves the success, IMO. Especially with Spring breaking through, I think radio likes a change of pace with the seasons and this is one of those songs they gave that distinction.
I only saw the video once, on YouTube, a little while back, and it did not impress me. It didnt look good at all, and I thought it would be much more colourful or at least outdoors in a sunny scene or something like that.

I like Shakira, but I will be LMAO when she continually has to resort to a song like this to sell her album in this country.

I dont know why people say La Tortura was a Hit when it was not a radio hit at all .......... "La Tortura" was rejected by radio and only got to what #40??? in mainstream hit yes it went o #23 in billboard Hot 100 thanx to download and had a bigger reaction since it was her "Comeback single" and only got played in few stations i bet you there is people that have never heard this song in middle america as for Dont bother it was play in all 135 stations in POP and was her actually real comeback to middle america.......and it went #23 in maintream HIT... preaty big for an artist that hasnt been in radios for over 4 years and her LS was a moderete HIT ;D as for HDL she has everything it takes to have a HIT song.. All radio stations in pop format....its english.... very upbeat ..... Sony need to promote this single and push it to become a HUGE HIT.......... peformances like American Idol just talk for for themselves....... and Now for july in the World cup this song will blow.......... maybe (hopefully) biggest Hit of the year if they could handle that........ her follow ups will be sucessfull to whatever it is......radios stations will pick them up easy....... and playout shakira just because shes momentum its like mariah..... none of her song would of been sucessful if she never release "We Belong Together" ( that song saved her) She better watch herself she doesn't want to pigeonhole herself and only be able to get Americans interested in her for only her Latin sounding uptempos. Yep, anyone who's a one-trick pony in the US has a limited time-frame for radio success. Madonna didn't have radio hits constantly for a 20 year period by only doing one style of song. I'm not saying Shakira is doing that. I'm just saying she needs to find a way to have a hit in a somewhat different style, and she's in danger of of not doing that. I think any other song from OF2 would flop since there's nothing left that sounds Latin, OR radio-friendly. So basically I'm concerned that her next English album will be all reggaeton-influenced stuff. (I personally would like that, and I bet radio would eat it up for awhile, but then what?)

I dont know why people say La Tortura was a Hit when it was not a radio hit at all "La Tortura" was never even sent to mainstream radio, and still it had a MUCH higher audience peak than "Don't Bother." All of the important Pop stations, the ones in big cities, played it a lot. The biggest station in the country Z100 played it in high rotation for about 6 months and had it all the way at #5 on their year-end countdown for example.
