I don't know if she's going to get the same results with this as she got with "S.O.S.". I don't see how she can sample "Blue Monday" without making a song that sounds like Kylie Minogue-esque eurodance.

Yeah it reminds me of how Jennifer Lopez was on the radio without a single break from late 2000 all the way through 2003... and her crap seemed untouchable, but eventually her oversaturation caught up with her and now she's a permenant flop! I actually like Rihanna more than J. Lo, but I'd expect a similar symdrome to catch up with her eventually. |

But, Rihanna isn't everywhere like J. Lo was. In a way, it feels like Unfaithful was her last single. We Ride flopped hard and there wasnt a video for Break It Off, which felt like more Sean Paul anyways. Jennifer was in movies and magazines and everything! She was releasing remixes to her songs and the remixes sounded like completely different songs. Her level of over exposure was WAY higher than Rihanna's is now. I don't know too many people that are sick of her. Not all of her singles are huge hits and she remains a low-key profile. I think she will have more of a break in between this album and the next. If not, then that is when people will start being sick of her.

Can't wait to hear it! I was sick of her during the "Unfaithful" era but if you are thinking about it most of her singles are pretty enjoyable.

Not yet anyways. I think after this album, if its as good as it sounds like its gonna be, she will be able to go away for like 2 years before releasing her next album. I have said before that this album will be the one to either make or break Rihanna. This will either make her a star and set her a place in the music industry and make her memorable or it would flop and she would be forgotten instantly. I hope it makes her a star! I like her. |
