This song still hasn't grown on me, it's just okay. Someone else should be singing this.

This definitely sounds better in HQ, but considering all the other guaranteed smashes on the album, it's an odd choice for single.

Hmmmmm...... sounds nice in HQ, I want "Breakin' Dishes" as the second single, have David LaChappelle shoot the video, hit song/video.

This sounds exactly like "Hot Stuff" by Pussycat Dolls. Atleast PCD was smart enough to not release that as a single.

Kiss 108 is already cranking this. Not surprising. Every time an artist who is hot at the moment releases a new single, they jump all over it instant impact (See this, Justin/WGACA, Pink/WK, Fergie/"Big Girls"). This is definitely an interesting one. I don't like it as much as "Umbrella," but it's certainly not bad. Definitely some more, uh, "mature" lyrics, if you're catching my drift... I can see it going Top 15 or so, maybe Top 10 but not a "Break It Off" or "SOS"-type smash.

This and S.O.S. are easily my favorite Rihanna singles. Umbrella just wasn't catchy enough to me. I also love Don't Stop The Music and Push Up On Me.

Well, the people behind her are. Seriously, of all of radio's current staples I bet Rihanna has the least pull or say about her sound, image, songs, lyrics, etc out of everyone. Some of her songs are ok, but she has nothing to do with it. She just sings over a hot beat handed over to hear, and her voice isn't even that good, so I don't give Rihanna herself any credit. Having said that, this song is decent. I think I'll like it for a little because this is great summer pop, but any other time of year this would probably annoy me. It sounds like Pink or something. Whoa @ this being from a quasi-Urban artist.

I don't care if she can't write or produce her songs. I take her as a pop artist with catchy and eclectic song. I'm not asking her to be Alicia Keys.

Wow! I'm glad she's doing something so innovative. This will be a great summer hit!

You have to hand it to whatever team is behind her making sure she's not sounding like Ashanti. Too bad she can't sell records to save her life.
As for the song, it's decent, but it is VERY Hilary Duff and it doesn't sound like a hit at all.

Yeah I really don't care if she writes or not especially since most people just say they wrote or co-wrote something to make them seem like more of an artist. I'm sure more people are just handed a song and told to sing it more often than we'd like to think.

Wow! I'm glad she's doing something so innovative. This will be a great summer hit! You really think she, Rihanna herself, had anything to do with the innovation? She's a marketing tool. She doesn't write lyrics. She doesn't arrange music. She doesn't produce. She doesn't have a defining sound that she gives her input on. The song may be innovative, but let's not credit it to the wrong places. The execs at Def Jam are genius for taking a random girl from the islands and finding a way to get her hit after hit!

I'm sure more people are just handed a song and told to sing it more often than we'd like to think. That's true. But I think the difference between a Rihanna and a Beyonce is that Beyonce probably has concepts in her head and asks the producers and writers she works with to play into it, while Rihanna doesn't even conceptualize her own material.
