I may think that "Cry" is the better choice, but her performance at Nova is f**king epic.
If she has a couple of high profile performances, this just might turn into a hit.

Joseph Kahn is shooting a video with KC (via Twitter). It's probably the AG video. And... recently Kelly has been back in studio recording (some speculate it's for a radio edit). Apparently her new video calls for a style change!

Kelly shot the video for this in Toronto while in town for the MMVA's over the weekend.
She described the video as being "very different" for her, and it's "Hollywood glam".

Great vocals. I like how they incorporated the atmosphere of the original, but I wish it had more of a punch...

Kelly said in an interview that she didn't hear "Halo" until All I Ever Wanted was already being printed, and she got really pissed off with Ryan about the similarity. She said she fought to have it not released as a single, but RCA went ahead and released it without her consent.
RCA sucks.

Yeah, but that came from a fan-made article on that Examiner site where anyone can post a "news story." Usually I'd believe it, since Beyonce typically has very little to do with the songwriting process, but it's not like Kelly was given much of a chance with this record anyway. At most she probably wrote the lyrics to the verses. Also, if this were the case, I don't think Kelly would be afraid to go ahead and say that she did it first. "Halo" was demoed for Leona Lewis, and Beyonce said she wanted it. I have no idea if Kelly had recorded "Already Gone" yet, but I know that "Halo" had been in Ryan's vault since "Bleeding Love" was released here in the U.S. I'm pretty sure the only person to blame for this is Ryan Tedder. He gets his paycheck either way, and a lot of his stuff sounds freakishly similar (even Kelly's "Save You" completely rips off the verses in "Apologize."). He's kind of a one-trick pony, and when he isn't, his stuff sounds outright strange ("If I Can't Have U"). |
