I just heard this on promosquad. Missy produced it. I like it. I'll try to get a clip of it.

I wonder if they're testing this for the lead single. The title is a little odd for a lead single though.

The sample is scary. Sounds like a drag. I like the song though.

Missy proves her incompetence as a producer yet again by using a sample as expected. This has way too much of Curtis Mayfield's vocals too.
EDIT: But I like it even more than "So Gone"!

Thanks. I like it, it sounds hot. Missy should shut up though. But can't she record a song without using samples for once.

This is catchy and the sample is nice and everything, but I don't understand why they'd so blatantly copy "So Gone". Clive seemed confident that this album was going to return her to her glory days and I don't know how she's going to do that when she's copying a single of her's that failed to cross over.

well part of her failure to cross over was she'd been gone for 5 years and Pop audiences have the shortest memory span of them all. Clive is a smart man, we'll see :-)
This does not sound like "So gone"--- there are similarities of COURSE because its the same artist and producer, but the song itself has a different sound, different feel, etc. It's really nice!

Okay I listened to this three times and I think think is actually catchier than "So Gone". Overall I really liked the sample and attitude on that song, but the bridge was the only part I thought was catchy. The chorus on this one is REALLY catchy.
Also, the title is really getting to me. It doesn't sound like a hit and she doesn't even say the title in the song. It should be titled "Remind Me". I'd say "You Remind Me" but everyone in the business has a song with that title.

Isn't this too adult for the pop audience? It's a HOT one from Ms. Arnold, but I don't know if the pop audience cares about "a dozen roses" or "the joy of children laughing."

And in that case, Monica has nothing to worry about because she has never been and never will be some pop phenom. She's like the young Faith Evans to Brandy's Mary (well not CURRENT Brandy, but you get the point).

I've been listening to this again and again, and I LOVE it! With all the talking of crossing over to pop, I'd say screw pop if it doesn't want to play this. Ms. Arnold should continue to make quality and good music, and that's all that really matters in the end.

I think that's only coming up because Clive Davis has been talking about this album being The Boy Is Mine part two.

She may not be able to get Pop play with this, although it has a better chance than "So Gone" for two reasons: 1) like Josh said, it's catchier and 2) it's brighter, happier than "So Gone" was, and I think that'll help with cross over. But yeah, who really cares? Urban should love the hell out of this, I think Rhythmic will do something with it, and with that Curtis Mayfield sample UAC will get an added push.
The title, I hope, isn't "A Dozen Roses", that just seems odd since it's only used in the very beginning, and by the sample not by Monica. This is a good sign for Mo', though!

I could see this maybe peaking in the 30's at CHR/Pop at the highest. They're probably expecting her Bryan Michael Cox ballad to be a big pop hit. "We Belong Together" and "Be Without You" both went to #1 at CHR/Pop and "Don't Forget About Us" went to #3. Then again, it could sound like "Ain't Really Love" in which case it wouldn't have a shot in hell at CHR/Pop.

And knowing little Miss Hood Princess, Monica, it will be on the ARL end of the spectrum.

Yeah this is sort of like so gone, and tweets's "turn the lights down". I can already see rappers already getting on remixes on mix tapes with this song.
