wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/redhdani.wmaThis will be the first single from their upcoming double-album Stadium Arcadium. Anthony Kiedis talks about it in the latest issue of Q Magazine: I hate the title, and the fact that it's about a character. I'm sure I'll like it though.

I'd rather hear another song about Gloria...Venice Queen was the sh*t. Regardless, I'm really looking forward to this based on the description.

I don't mean to take any credit away from RHCP, and I know the character Dani has been around since 2002... but I can't help but think maybe the success of American Idiot prompted them to go with the whole character thing again.

One of my friends told about this song about 5 days ago. I thought he was joking, based on the title. I hope it's good, their two latest albums are great!.

Video's booked with director Tony Kaye. It will be a nod to rock n' roll, from the 50's to present day.

Has anyone heard this yet? No, and I'm getting impatient. I just realized that "Dani" made her first appearance in "Californication," not "By The Way."

Defenitely... this and the Maroon 5 track that's going out later this year. Where is Dani mentioned on "Californication"? I just looked the lyrics... no Dani. Or is it on the album Californication? On an album track somewhere?

I know a lot of people really liked their last album, but I was really disappointed with it after Californication. "By The Way" and "Can't Stop" annoyed the hell out of me and "Zephyr Song" was just boring. I hope I like this one.

By The Way was my favorite album of 2003 by far. I like every single song on the CD. I'm really looking forward to Stadium, though, becuase it's going to be a blend of all their best albums (BSSM, Californication, BTW) while still making some progression.

It just looks very novelty to me, and I think that could carry over to people's feelings about the song itself.. or that the song may have that feel to it. Regardless, RCHP are in that group of artists who will rocket to #1 Alternative now. It's like if you have a certain level of fame at Alternative, your first single always goes to #1 these past few years.

Regardless, RCHP are in that group of artists who will rocket to #1 Alternative now. It's like if you have a certain level of fame at Alternative, your first single always goes to #1 these past few years. Yeah, I agree with all your points. First off, yeah this will go to #1 Alternative no matter what. As for the video, it does seem very novelty. It reminds me of Backstreet Boys "Just Want You To Know." That's definitely not a good thing. Also, it kind of steals a concept from one of my all time favorite videos that I've never mentioned on the boards due to the fact that it's in Italian. An Italian band named Articolo 31 did the whole "rock and roll from the 1940's to present" thing for one of their songs, and they carried it out VERY effectively without it looking like novelty. So, RHCP will have me comparing their video to the Articolo 31 one, and going by that picture, RHCP will lose that little battle. I also think the fact that the song is named after a character won't help the novelty factor.

If anyone is interested, here's a link to watch the Articolo 32 video I mention in my post above. The song is "Senza Dubbio" which is the third one down. it.music.yahoo.com/ar-16035562-videos--Articolo-31I think this is a great "through the different era's of rock and pop cultire" video that doesn't come off cheesy. My favorite part is when World War II is taking place all around them but the music goes on. I also love how when it starts in 1938, the camera's have the antique quality to it. Then it goes through the Beatles craze... and the 80's part is funny too. Ugh, after watching the Articolo 31 video again and going back to the RHCP pic, I just have to say it....the Chili Peppers video is going to suck.

I heard a 50 second live snippet of this in really poor quality. I'm assuming the part I heard is not the chorus. It sounds kind of bluesy and maybe a little Bohemian lol.
