A radio station in Germany said that this song will "world premiere" on April 3. Uh, if their album is due out May 9, it better premiere a lot sooner than that.

April 4.3-04 Red Hot Chili Peppers "Danni California" (Warner Bros.) Matches up with the German radio station story. They really want this to debut on stations around the world on the same day, so I doubt we'll be hearing this song before then.

Yep, they've done a pretty good job of keeping this song from leaking.

I love it already. It's my favorite by them since 2000.

I'll admit that I was worried about this from the live snippet I heard last week. But hearing this in high quality, it's f**kin awesome.
It definitely sounds like a departure from their Californication and By The Way albums though. This is a whole new style for them, while "Tell Me Baby" sounds right in line with the previous two albums. To be honest, I don't think I'll like this as much as the singles from the last album, but that's not to say I won't love it.

Anthony's vocal is monotonous and boring. Tell Me Baby is much more promising. I was also expecting something much more uptempo and funkier.

It's hard to tell what I'll think of the song based on this one clip. Maybe it has tempo/vibe changes like "By the Way".

Just heard the clip of DC and it doing absolutly nothing on me. Its sound too much like By The Way. Im gonna wait to hear the full version.

You can't say the trailer is modest I really can't tell if I'll like the song or not from that clip.

You can't say the trailer is modest Yeah, lol. I guess once you reach a certain point in your career, there's no need for being humble.

We should hear this in less than two weeks now. Meanwhile, a new video is up on their site where the Peppers talk about the making of "Dani California" in depth, accompanied by a much longer clip than what we've previously heard. www.redhotchilipeppers.com/news/news.php?uid=151

They've already got this song as a ringback tone for Verizon Wireless. I like the song based on that clip.

Ok, I like this clip MUCH more than the other one...the guitar solo at the end is crazy.

Actually, the cover in the post above is for the version containing the B-sides. The version that contains JUST "Dani California" will have this cover:

A lot of people will probably disagree with me because there are such high hopes for this project, but this is my favorite RHCP song in years. There's nothing gimmicky, nothing pretentious, nothing annoying.. I love it.

I love this. I don't like it as much as their Californication/By The Way sound, but I still love it. It has a solid guitar rift throughout the song. The chorus is very monumental and instantly memorable. I love the little harmony thing midway through too. And those guiatars at the end, I don't know what I can say. They're amazing.
This is going straight to #1 at Alternative and will last there much longer than Peral Jam.

I just saw the video, but haven't heard it in HQ yet. I really like the verses, the bridge with John, and the guitar solo is crazy, but the chorus is still so monotone and boring to me. Hopefully it will grow on me. This is so different for them...
Does anyone else hear Mary Jane's Last Dance in the verses?
