Does anyone else hear Mary Jane's Last Dance in the verses? lmao Adam and I were talking about that. I guess it's really obvious.

LOL yeah. The "Last Dance With Mary Jane" similarities is my main gripe with this. I always hated that song. Luckily the songs many positive other features save it.

Now that I'm more aquainted with the song, I have to say that I HATE the video concept. The imagery I have from the song kind of matches the CD single cover that's now in my avatar. It would be a really cool storyline for the video if it had some hot ass, crazy California girl riding down Sunset Boulevard or like Malibu on a horse. I want the video to rep the song's title and the time of year it's coming out (summer). I don't want a video with them acting like 60's hippies on some indoor soundstage.

The video really doesn't match the song at all.

The video is okay. Doesn't match the song.
I'm unsure about the song right now.

Let's all take bets on when this hits #1. My guess is Tuesday April 11.

I can't stop listening to the solo at the end. Easily the best part of the song.

The video is abysmal. Besides not having anything to do with the song, it looks extremely cheap and poorly edited. Totally boring and bad.

Bought it on Rhapsody today and it sounds even better in HQ. Amazing bass work by Flea.

The Alternative bullet has gone up in a big way since even this morning.
In addition to being the Greatest Gainer at Alternative in just one day, this is also the Greatest Gainer at Active Rock, the third Greatest Gainer at "Rock," and is taking off at both HAC and AAA.

I can see this being their second biggest Hot 100 hit if they time the digital release right. It should have no problem being their biggest since "Scar Tissue".

Yeah, this would only be their third Hot 100 Top 10 hit. "Under The Bridge" peaked at #2 and "Scar tissue" peaked at #9. I could see this rocketing to the Top 10 on downloads like "Speed Of Sound" did last year.

Oh. It's on iTunes. lol It's currently #99. Damn! I wish they waited another week or two. Although, this will help it debut really high. Especially after the video premiere tomorrow night.

That's great and it will definitely have a high Hot 100 debut. It's final audience for the week should also be pretty impressive. However, I compare it being #49 at the end of its first day to songs like "Don't Forget About Us," "So Sick," and "What You Know," all of which were Top 10 iTunes or right near it by the end of day one. Basically what I'm getting at is I don't know if this can pull off a Top 10 Hot 100 debut. although Top 20 is probably a given.

I'm hoping with the debut of the video that it's going to blow up. As much as we hate the video, there are a lot of kids who love corny sh*t and they'll eat it up and I'm sure that's what the band was going for. Also, RHCP are one of the few artists who have been around since the 80's that high school students today are still infatuated with so I can see this doing very well once people start hearing it.
