I'm so glad to see this finally get the success it deserves in America. It's catchy, clever, soulful and funny. It's got a great authentic throwback sound and six months later it still sounds fresh. Sometimes a song is so good and connects so well with people that you just can't keep it down. It's telling that the moment it finally got some decent exposure with the Grammys and Glee it exploded. And of course it flies in the face of people who say it's only a hit because of the language. Hopefully it'll end up the #1 hit it was internationally and should have been in the States last autumn soon.

This is his "Airplanes". The beat reminds me a LITTLE but of "True Colors" by Phil Collins. Anyone else hear it? It absolutely has to sample it.

This is hot as hell. BUT my contribution to the favourite Dragonette collaboration discussion would have to be Don Diablo's "Animale".

I love that such a cool act has had a hit with what's essentially a Boney M song dedicated to Barbra Streisand. I prefer their single "aNYway" from last year. It's a very similar concept, but with a catchy chorus too.

Top 10. I can't believe this is still going strong six months later. Go Pink! ... and it's Top 20 at Adult Contemporary. The era's been going over two years now!

This is my least favourite of their three hits, but it was still one of my favourite songs of last year. They're an amazing band and I could see them catching on in the slow, word-of-mouth way they did here. I agree his accent is a bit much at times though.

One of the best pop songs of the year. That chorus is just fantastic. Much as I loved "Hollywood", it sounded like a very self aware attempt at a hit, where as this is more natural and all the better for it.

I've loved both singles from this album.

Awful, but something about it is undeniably catchy.

Just like everything they release I loved this, it became my favourite by them and then it grew right off me in the space of a couple of weeks.

Much, much better than the disappointing "Fire With Fire". Either this or "Night Work" should have been the first single.

Just astounding. This could even end up as my favourite by her. It's that good.
Here's the video.

I can't imagine a song like "You Oughta Know" fitting on the same album that contains "California Girls"... I don't think a "You Oughta Know"-style song will sound too out of place on the album. "Thinking Of You" was heavily influenced by Alanis and that sounded fine on One Of The Boys.

As if he hasn't sounded gay the whole time. lol I hate the way he over-enunciates the word "beautiful." That's the reason I don't like this.

I thought I'd commented on this. I love it. One of my defining songs of last year. It holds a very special place in my heart.

I like this at the moment, but I could see it getting annoying. Reminds me of "Destination Calabria".

It's crazy to me how long ago it seems that he was popular. He's one of those who already feels very much like a 00s act. I suppose it has been five years since In Between Dreams.
That's one of the reasons I'm not really bothered about this. The other is that really, the world doesn't need any more music by Jack Johnson. Once you've heard one of his albums you've heard them all. If I'm being honest, like The Music Man, now I have a healthy distance from when Jack was popular, "Flake" is the only song of his I love. The rest is just pleasant background music.

The question is, what does this have to do with the Illuminati?
