One issue... Kardinal Offishall. As much as I loved "Dangerous," his flow and verse suck here. Not to mention the annoying "CHYEAHs" and that noise that sounds like he's running his tongue between his lips...WTF? Problem solved. Just heard this on WAEV for the first time and instead of playing the edit that kept Kardinal's verse and faded out after the subsequent chorus, they replaced him with the extra Akon/Colby verse. Now I'll be able to properly enjoy this whenever it comes on the radio.

It's a straight shot to the Top 10 at this point, given the +931 bullet at #13. Despite T.I.'s currently enormous stature and Justin's obvious augmentation of the pop appeal, it's slightly disconcerting to see this becoming a CHR smash. The verses are the best parts of the song, but they're also much heavier than "Whatever You Like" and "Live Your Life."
Last night I heard a radio edit with a brief instrumental opening that jumped straight to the first verse. There's no question that the song's length needs trimming and this version sounded fairly decent, but waiting so long for the hook was strange.

This is at least becoming tolerable, but I'm displeased nonetheless that this is going to take #1 over FAR superior material from Pink, Kanye, and Britney.

This is quickly turning into a disaster. Forget about the Top 5 Alternative showing, that was basically a given strictly on the basis of their name. Overall, the response is tepid from almost everyone I've talked to; at least "Vertigo" made an impact, even if it was messy. They're going to need a second single out before the album release - or they can just paint this as a "hype single" and drop it from the track listing altogether, LOL. It's also noteworthy that even after opening the Grammys with a great performance, this isn't even in the iTunes Top 100. Lots of performer and winners benefited, but not U2. THAT'S a problem.
In all seriousness, I'm pulling for a successful U2 era. For their sake and mine, I really hope that whatever they release next is quality.

That's amazing and well-deserved.
On a related note, I was in Athens this weekend and did an amazing drunken accompaniment when this came on the radio last night. My fellow passengers called me out for babbling along when lyrics came up that I haven't yet mastered. LOL

DAMN. Congrats to Taylor. I'm no country fan, but this really is a great song. It's great to see diversity at the chart's top.

Sadly, you're correct. "Crank That" inexplicably received a Best Rap Song nomination.

Head for the nearest trash can. All Access has an adds date listed as February 24, but that's almost irrelevant. This is MOST ADDED at Pop this week, including Z100, KISS/Dallas, Kiss 108 and Y100.
If you were cheering because "Wake Up America" isn't happening, don't get too excited. This easily fulfills her lyrical cheese quota regardless, and the vocals are terrible.
Okay, I meant to move the WUA thread to Album Tracks, but inadvertently deleted it altogether. My apologies, although I kinda doubt many people are shedding tears...

Just because you write and produce your own music is immaterial if the "music" isn't actually WORTH writing and producing.
Having said that, the production is somewhat decent, but the song is crappy overall. It's fourth most added at Pop this week, including KISS/Dallas and Q102. What's up with the bridge, "We on the phone like da da da da da da?" For one, it's annoying, and it reeks of "Buy U A Drank."

And the adds are starting to roll in...already fifth most added this week with 15 new stations, including Q102. I have no idea what edit they're playing, if any.

About damn time, too. For a minute, it appeared this might collapse before making a Top 10 appearance, but now its bullet is almost as strong as it's ever been.

SO well-deserved. I feared that with Coldplay in the mix, they might get shut out. Glad that wasn't the case. It would have been nice if they performed too, although they apparently took the stage at Clive's party.

I'm not waiting with bated breath, but I'm interested enough. "Lazy Eye" was great.

Alright, this is growing on me. The bridge is still irritating, but I can stomach it since the rest of the song is so hot.

Just as I was reflecting on my gladness that this stalled relatively quickly at Pop, I check the Hot AC charts and see "Gotta Be Somebody" at #1. Figures.

Single number two just entered the Top 50. On first listen, it makes a far better impression than "Addicted." As offensive as I initially found the latter, though, it somehow grew on me tremendously in a manner that I doubt this will replicate. It's tolerable enough though. Like its other southern counterparts, my CHR plays this sort of material like there's no tomorrow so I'm guessing that I'll despise this in a few months' time.

How is this blowing up at Pop? It's tied with Leona's "I Will Be" for most uninteresting single of the moment.

I'm just going to pretend like I never heard this. From the second the bad guitars kicked in where the awesome robotic effects usually stand, I knew it was hopeless.

I don't know, but I'd like this on my iPod pronto. I'd also like for my station to add it, already.

8 7 PINK Sober 6878 5955 923 39.387 +178 Spins +74 Bullet +1.070 Audience HUGE! This has the 3rd largets bullet. Could Pink be getting her 4th #1 in a row?? I had almost ruled it out completely...but check it out, she's even got a bigger bullet than Kelly now! Only "Gives You Hell" is gaining more in the Top 10 and Pink's got a 700-spin advantage. Really hope this can go all the way, it would be the best #1 since "Who Knew!"

A) Everytime I hear the beat it reminds me of Alice Deejay's "Better Off Alone"....especially the opening part....does it sample that? I don't think that's a sample, but I notice the similarity now that you point it out. Anyhow, I love almost everything about this song. The guitars at the end of Colby's verse are hot. One issue... Kardinal Offishall. As much as I loved "Dangerous," his flow and verse suck here. Not to mention the annoying "CHYEAHs" and that noise that sounds like he's running his tongue between his lips...WTF?

I'm slightly shocked simply given the magnitude its two predecessors reached...but it's definitely not as instant. Not nearly disastrous enough to preclude a fourth release, though. Even if it stalls now, the single release will basically be a third for the large number still banging "Hot N Cold."

I like this song and Kesha's voice is fun! Yeah, all kidding about Kesha's silly profile aside, she works just fine for this particular song. I'm glad this is blowing up.

Only quadruple bullet in the Top 10 (+1020). It's still got thousands of spins remaining and plenty of competition on the march to the top, but let me go on the record saying I'll be pissed if this makes #1. I'm waiting for it to grow on me, but it's not happening.
Having said that...enjoy the show tonight, Adam. LOL, I know that sounds ridiculous after trashing the song. I truly like them overall, this song's just obnoxious for me.

You summed it up nicely. Absolutely excellent, brings back lots of memories from late 2006/early 07. I especially love the dramatic instrumentation during the chorus. At this point, I'm pretty sure this will end up being their biggest song ever, and deservedly so.
