Z100 played this a few minutes ago. Since they'll be done with JD soon, I'm sure this will be in regular rotation soon enough.
Hmm... the production's a bit too similar to "Just Dance," but it's not as instant. Definitely don't care for the bridge. This will obviously be a hit to some degree, but I don't think it's another #1 smash.

Just heard this again on KISSFM. This is going to pull in an insane number of first-week adds, it's EXACTLY what programmers want from Kelly.
There must be an alternate radio edit, because there are some heavier guitars (or maybe they're just louder) during the instrumental portion of the bridge than in the version posted on All Access.

Just heard this on Ryan Seacrest's show - which I assumed meant it played on all affiliates, but I'm only seeing it in WAEV's log. Weird. Maybe my station just threw it in with a liner from Ryan on top.
Anyway, this is exactly what I expected, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm a sucker for this dancey pop-rock sound, and I love the key she's singing in as well. The lyrics are subpar, but that's almost beside the point. Like everyone said - #1 without a shadow of doubt. It'll have a quadruple bullet in a matter of days.

This happened last time around with them, though. Remember how "Dirty Little Secret" took MONTHS to finally blow up? You'd think radio would have learned their lesson.

I haven't even listened to more than 15 seconds of the song, but what the hell? "I'm jumping out the window?"

And nice post count, Darrion. LOL

That's because this SHOULD be long done by now. I don't understand how PDs sat on this one.
The majority of the bullet is from XM 20 on 20 and G105/Raleigh, whom inexplicably just added it this week. However, I incorrectly assumed that Cumulus was responsible for the bulk of its spins. I've said all along that this is a Pop smash waiting to happen. If Interscope/Geffen has a grain of sense, they'll push this again now that the new year has arrived.

Officially Top 5 at Pop, with a +1200 bullet to boot. Beyonce may or may not block Taylor from #1, depending on "Single Ladies'" longevity, but this is essentially assured of at least a #2 peak. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I think that makes this the biggest country crossover since "You're Still The One" from Shania Twain, over 10 years ago. Wow.

Obviously the bullets are inflated...but this is BLOWING UP at Pop now. Current bullet stands at +994. I'd say it's a shoo-in for the Top 10, too bad the song isn't better.

If the PDs of Z100 and KIIS are hesitating, that alone should be a red flag signaling Jive to pull the plug. Not only are they piloting two of the most powerful Top 40s in the country, they're in two particularly liberal markets. Imagine the difficulty record reps are going to face getting this on the air in Nashville or Des Moines if it won't fly in NYC or LA.
John Ivey may be onto something, though. "Womanizer" is barely finished; "Circus" is miles from peaking and likely to hang around in the Top 5 for a while. There's plenty of time for Jive to switch things up.

For me the part of the song that stands out the most is the "coming down, coming down, coming down" bit. That might be my favorite part of the song, too. Really powerful, haunting stuff. You'd think I'd have become somewhat desensitized to Pink's stuff blowing up by now, but I'm excited every time one of her singles begins to explode up the charts. She consistently achieves a perfect blend of catchiness and quality, and this is no exception.

I probably should have seen this coming. Here's "If U Seek Amy" laid over the "I Kissed A Girl" production - it works surprisingly well. Someone needs to go ahead with a full mash-up.
And I just found the purported "radio edit." It makes an already ridiculous song completely nonsensical and worthless. Not that I give two sh*ts about the song regardless, but still.

There's something about this song. I was definitely underwhelmed the first time I listened, but I'm slowly being drawn in. The production reminds me of "This Is Why I'm Hot," but I love the extra accents between lines during the verses. It's the most hypnotic song I can recall since Cassie's classic "Me & U." Ending's whack, though, and I wish the hook were bigger.
I can't envision this as a Pop smash, but I could see it being a spice record for a minute and then disappearing, a la "Paper Planes."

Is that the radio edit? If so, they really should just scrap this release altogether. The entire song is based around the novelty of that one line; there's really nothing else that's remotely compelling.

They really shouldn't even bother. First of all, it's absolutely horrible unless you like three minutes of incessant screaming and bad guitars. I could at least somewhat understand the promotion if this was July, but at this point they'd honestly be better off covering "Whatever You Like." "Lollipop" is old news, and this isn't compelling enough to make people care about a nine-month-old song again.

It sounds great based on the clip. Definitely sounds like it was manufactured to be a surefire smash, not that we didn't see that coming from a mile away. I do think the word "suck" sounds a bit silly/immature though.

This should have been huge. Definitely. Huge, memorable hook, catchy production (even though it was "Since U Been Gone" regurgitated)...this was one of the strangest cases of 2005. What's even more baffling is that it failed to pick up after being sent for adds a second time.

The end makes me laugh: "Now we gon' switch this thing back/ I'ma put it...on yo aaaasss" My friend and I now have a running joke with this. On the radio edit, they drop the word "ass," and the cold segue straight from the song into the DJ talking sounds absolutely hilarious. "I'ma put it...on yo THAT WAS USHER'S TRADING PLACES!"

He's worthless this era, and having Plies on board doesn't help matters. This makes "One More Drink" look good. And what's with him recycling the "lady in the street but a freak in the bed" line from "Yeah!"

Garbage. This is the exact direction I was hoping he wouldn't pursue. Even if there's better material on the album, this isn't going to kick-start a successful enough era that it'll get released.

First #1 of 2009...that's a nice distinction! We're certainly starting off on a good note.
It's an especially commendable feat considering how difficult it was to get this song off the ground. Interscope deserves a lot of credit for pushing a clear hit until radio finally caught on.
