Didn't they work together before? On a song called "Storm" or something?
Anyway I barely remember it and nothing he's done lately is memorable.

SO much better than "Novacane." I really like this.
Don't know that it sounds like a hit though.

I don't know why everyone is rushing to work with the Cataracs now. They really haven't come up with a major second hit yet. Although they are pretty huge on college campuses across the country.

I really like this. Does it sound like a major smash? No. But it sounds like the type of song that can do moderately well and pave the way for more success later on.
I think this may be touching on the next big thing. As the cheesy Cascada type of dance is becoming passe, I think we're going to see more of this kind of electro sound. Dubstep is going to breakout soon and this is commercial enough to bring the genre to radio (since it's only halfway dubstep anyway).

it means that Timbo didn't find a Hindu or Middle Eastern beat to steal so he called some help ROFL. So he borrows Guetta's one beat.

But then again four years ago is almost halfway back to when she first came out. Makes it seem less recent.

Don't know what it says when a producer makes an album but needs another producer. That would be like DJ Khaled making an album but having some other DJ do the track. Just what does DJ Khaled (or Timbo in this case) actually do then???

Yeah I never watched XFactor but even I heard of her because every British 20-something was talking about her at somepoint. Then when this song leaked a month or two ago, I saw so many status updates about how awful this song is and how she's a flop. Well I guess not I still haven't heard the song myself.

She's lucky she had "Girlfriend" because I think she'd be struggling to get any attention at all if that hadn't smashed. Absolutely true.

Down to #135 on iTunes
I guess it really is a tough time for rock music. Even by high profile bands with huge followings.

Top 5 on Alternative but TANKING on iTunes. Down to #192 Now that I expected this to be a huge sales hit but I thought the hype alone would help them stay in the the Top 50 for a while, or at least the Top 100.

I forgot about them! This is their new single. I don't think it's that catchy and don't see it fitting in at Alternative radio these days, but I do miss this sound.

Top 20 at Rhythmic.
If this pulls off Top 10 there (which is iffy now), I definitely think this will become a Pop hit this Fall. It would do well there. Sonically it resembles a bit of a mix between "Just a Dream" and "Rocketeer."

I'm sad to see this flopping.
His album is #1 on iTunes though. Small consolation prize.

He may finally get a second Top 10 Pop hit. This is at #15 with a +321 bullet. Usually a song dipping below +500 at #15 would be a long shot for Top 10, but all the songs in front of it are dropping like bricks and most of the songs behind it aren't growing too much faster. Just depends on endurance now.
I could also see this peaking at #11 lol

#6 iTunes now
Can't remember the last time a proper Alternative song by a new artist did this well on the sales chart.

I agree that radio needs to balance things out more. I think they are trying to with Foster the People which is REALLY different for Pop radio, but don't see Avril as different/balance. They just see her as a popular fad of the past.
On one hand I can't blame radio for that because her team has done nothing to update her image at all... but I do wish American radio would FINALLY become more like European radio and play ALL types of music with balance. Even when radio in the US is on a fad that I like, I always wish for balance.
